That would very much change how I was planning on treating the chancellor position.

First, I've gave my opinion on some topics, I gave reads on the people that other people are considering, what's so scummy? How are you not pushing a scum agenda, How does putting strong town player's into office benefit town/scum? If someone's has a strong town but is scum how about that?.

Looks like a lot has happened since I went to bed. I'll be putting some thoughts on the last ten or so pages in this post.
- bugs' claim seems really scummy. In bastard mafia, he was only outed in one post, by a post timing analysis, and no one really mentioned that again. The last post in the game was even a question about who was playing as Bagmanager. It's definitely possible he forgot that he was caught. If that's the case then his scum claim kind of makes sense from a scum point of view; if we started lynching into smurfs to try and find him, there are a lot of smurfs that would go higher up on the list. The posting style he uses as Bagmanager is also pretty different from his normal posting style, and he's a pretty smart guy - it's unlikely he would get caught if he hadn't been caught already.
- on the other hand, if he remembered that Bagmanager had already been outed, then the move obviously doesn't make sense from a scum point of view, except for the wifom "why would scum claim scum" crap argument. If that's the case then he probably gave the account to someone else and is now fucking with them.
- on balance I think that Bagmanager would be a valid lynch target.

- I'm glad bill Murray liked my anti-cat party post but that post wasn't some genius stroke of real play disguised as trolling. I was trolling just like everyone else.

- Forumite is right, we need -exactly- two valid town candidates for each post, otherwise of scum pile their votes secretly on someone they would be the likely heir.

- a little surprised the cube is Cephiro - I thought it was Palmar since he's the one who controlled the account in aperture mafia - but there's no reason he couldn't have given the account away.

- Cube's "co-operate with the Hamburger bloodline" comment doesn't sound town. If you are town, then it would be odd to call playing as town "co-operating.". It sounds like how I posted when I was survivor in bastard mafia (before we figured out that there was no town in that game.)

Okay I got to the end of the thread. I'm also at work now so more later.
Question for the mods:
can we change our votes once they've been pm'ed in or are they permanent?

This leads me to another point:

If the person in the #4 slot is elected emperor, the person in the #5 slot is his heir. In this case, if Laika is elected emperor, Companion Cube would be heir to the Emperor, and OpZ would be the next heir to the Emperor (if Companion Cube dies) and so on and so forth.

So no, marrying the Emperor or Empress does not give you a claim on the Emperor/Empress role.

Caller's clarification makes me radically revise my idea on secrecy surrounding chancellors. If the chancellor is not expendable as long as the emperor lives, then it is important that he is appointed in secret. Effectively, I thought the chancellor could serve as mafia-bait, which was part of my reason for wanting to appoint BM. However much he seems to have improved his play this game, mafia tends to dislike "wasting" kills on him. Forcing them to waste a kill/roleblock on BM seemed like a decent idea. It seemed like a win-win situation: either mafia is forced to deal with BM with a power role (kill him and a new chancellor was appointed), or BM is free to use his power role (and I still believe he would use it quite okay).

Seeing as this interpretation of the rules was wrong, and mafia could kill him and let the emperor live, leaving town without that DT role, that plan won't work. I will now also keep my appointment secret.
