I've read quite a few help forums on various sites and none seem to have the solution that I require.
That being said; I can not get XSplit to capture game sound from either my Xbox 360 or PC games.
It will capture the microphone but no other audio source as far as I can tell.
-OS: XP 32bit SP3 -Justin/Twitch TV -Hauppauge Colossus -Xbox360 Connects to capture card via hdmi
I realize that this may be a very vague issue. I will try to provide any information I can beyond this post.

| Use stereo mix for your audio input, instead of microphone. |

| I've tried that and the Stereo mix volume bar is grayed out. |

I'm using a Rocketfish HD webcam for my mic. The only audio input that shows up and has a stereo mix tab is the Realtek HD audio input, which as stated prior has a grayed out volume bar. |

| On the bottom right of your screen, right click your volume options. Go to Recording devices, right click stereo mix and enable it |

Yes, I understand both of your posts and like I said, after applying that change nothing happens. Additionally, I can not adjust the volume on that tab as it is grayed out. |

| Are you using HDMI out of your PC to your display, and listening using the speakers on that? It would help to have hardware specs. |

XboX 360 - HDMI - PC, like I said.
Example: Playing a game on Xbox 360. Xbox 360 out - HDMI - splitter - PC/TV.
Sound is heard perfectly on the TV as well as the PC when using WinTV 7 or ArcSoft but no game sound can be heard when using XSplit (however, mic can be heard).
Is this because I do not have the, Premium License?

Had you considered answering the questions I asked, instead of reiterating something that may or may not be relevant?
What are your system specs, and what type of output are you using from your PC to your display? Specifically, is it HDMI from your computer to a display, and if so, are you using the native speakers in that display?
I don't use Xsplit, but if your PC isn't letting you select stereo mix under sound options, I have a feeling something else is going on here, even if you do need the premium license.Last edit: 2012-04-28 06:10:41 |

I have cheap desk top speakers, and an HD monitor that is connected to the GFX card through VGA.

Have you tried using any other streaming software, like FMLE+VHSC, just to eliminate xsplit as a variable?
Also, try unplugging the microphone, just temporarily, and restart. See if stereo mix shows up again. It could be that the webcam mic doesn't play nicely with realtek. |

| You really need Vista or Win7 for proper audio capture, I don't think xsplit is supported on XP any more. Last edit: 2012-04-28 07:11:20 |

| I'll try removing the mic, hopefully this will still work with XP. |

| Ah, right, the obvious. OS issues. R1CH, how do you fix the part of your brain that makes you overlook stuff until it slaps you? |

I took the mic out, restarted and now XSplit reads the game sound but it displays it as the mic sound on the dashboard.
Progress? |

| Uhhh, you can try picking up a cheap 35mm mic and see if it works since you won't have an audio conflict with realtek and the rocketfish that way. If that doesn't work, R1CH's wisdom is likely on track for your issue. |

*sigh* Well, thanks for all your help, guys. At least there was a resolution of sorts for this problem.
For the time being I suppose I will just have to pick mic or game sounds.
Thanks again, everyone. |
