Actually I think Ipp and Gretorp are the best analytical casters, along with Artosis. Gretorp is pretty cheesy but he really is extremely knowledgable. His % of correct calls (regarding who will win given current build, what build a player is going for, etc.) is probably better than any other caster ATM.

| I laugh at some of the people who think Day9 isn't an analytical caster, or think he just likes to freak out or screw around. You should watch more than one Funday Monday before making your opinion. He spends his full-time on projects and things related totally to Starcraft 2. He probably knows a lot more than a number of pros about all the races and all the matchups! |

so who's a "real" analytical caster" then? lmfao...
artosis, apollo, rotterdam and mr bitter come to my mind (all around master-grandmaster level)
and you're saying Day9 isn't up there with those guys? OK.. I can safely disregard your opinion then, mr 50-post badass..
lol :D is there any proof day9 is nearly as good in sc2 as he was in bw? is there any proof he is around master level? is he even playing sc2? i don't thin so..
I'm sure there is, but we don't have access to it. Not that his ability to play is directly connected to his league rating. Where does your authority to claim he's not good enough come from? What are your merits? It's wildly accepted that people like Artosis and Apollo are the best analytical casters because they can/do play the game at a high level. Day9 is more of a color commentator at this point.
Wildly? I doubt there's any kind of consensus about this at all. I could just as easily claim that it's widely accepted that MrBitter is a specifically zvx-caster. There's a weird anti-Day9 movement going on right now, that has more to do with his success than with anything else. The only truly impressive caster as far as analysis goes is Artosis, but Day9 still fill the role just fine.
Should be widely, but yes it is the consensus. If you search TL with "Analytical caster" Artosis and Apollo come up the most frequently with that context of terms. Can you name someone (besides an actual player) who does a better job "getting into the players head" Than Artosis? This isn't me hating day[9]. I love Sean, I even donated money to his daily when he was first getting started with SC2. I just am not a biased fanboy who believes he is the best caster for analytics. Sean helped me get to Plat, but he will not help me get to grandmasters…

I just subbed to NASL so I haven't had a chance to hear alot of him, but he is excellent. In my mind I still think of him as a player since I copied so many of his builds in the beta lol.... |

He doesn't have the best casting abilities in terms of his on the fly thinking of what to say and how to say but damn if he doesn't know how to analyze the builds. |

Please stop. What you're saying is seriously unintelligent and literally impossible. There is 0 chance someone who isn't playing the game can know more than someone who does. (professionally) That's like implying an anchor sportscenter knows more about football because they watch all of the highlights. Day 9 does not play SC2 for 10 hours a day. he does not compete in tournaments. He does not discuss strategy with pros at their level
He isn't a noob, that's for sure. He's probably masters, maybe even GM. He is NOT a pro player however, and it’s pretty silly to compare his skill/knowledge to one
