I've seen this posted numerous times, but it's never once been confirmed (that I know of). If you can prove this, then I'll retract my statement. I love day[9] but he has never really blown my mind with analysis like Artosis or Apollo do. I just don't think it's likely that someone who works full time on various projects can actually be grandmasters with three different races. I understand the NA ladder isn't the most competitive, and I understand he may not be high grandmasters, but that would make Day[9] the best random player in NA? Seems far fetched....

He has apparently said it several other times as well. So I have a basic level of trust in people so I assume he is being honest but I guess some people are more paranoid and may not accept this as evidence. |

Wildly? I doubt there's any kind of consensus about this at all. I could just as easily claim that it's widely accepted that MrBitter is a specifically zvx-caster. There's a weird anti-Day9 movement going on right now, that has more to do with his success than with anything else. The only truly impressive caster as far as analysis goes is Artosis, but Day9 still fill the role just fine.

Can you name someone (besides an actual player) who does a better job "getting into the players head" Than Artosis? This isn't me hating day[9]. I love Sean, I even donated money to his daily when he was first getting started with SC2. I just am not a biased fanboy who believes he is the best caster for analytics. Sean helped me get to Plat, but he will not help me get to grandmasters…
lol.. TL search results does not equal consensus. Stop being goofy. For the heck of it, I did search the term, pressed a few links at random and some of the posts didn't even contain the names of specific casters. There is no consensus - get real.
Why would I name anyone other than Artosis when I just lauded him for being the only true stand-out as far as analytical casters go? On the other hand, saying Day9 doesn't rank with MrBitter, Apollo or whoever else is preposterous

I agree with you that Artosis is better than Day[9], but Artosis is pretty overrated on the analytical side of things. He's very busy with his child etc, so he doesn't have much time to practice and watch games any more. This means that his calling of builds and knowledge of the way the game is currently played can sometimes be lacking - through no fault of his own. Compare that to somebody like Apollo, who plays the game all the time and understands all the races at a very high level. Nearly every time Apollo makes a call, it is bang on, even if it doesn't appear so at first.
Artosis, on the other hand, is infamous for his massive miscalls and knowledge blunders (Carriers have the highest DPS in the game, "this should be gg, wait a minute actually he's winning!") - again, because he isn't playing as much any more and doesn't have the time to memorise background facts as much.
