It states that the contest ends June 12th and that the winners will be drawn on the 15th
It then states that winners will be notified within 5 days of drawing (15th-20/21st) and that in order to redeem the prize winners just simply follow the instructions in the email/message they recieve..
This leads me to believe that the beta will release during the week of the 17th (1 full week after MLG comes to an end)

I am actually suprised that no one is talking about this HUGE UPDATE as MLGAdam linked to this article recently published.

A lot of people seem to have disregarded his post and kept wondering when the Beta will be released.
The article states that Blizzard is partnering up with MLG to make up for BlizzCon, but it also provides us with, as I said, a HUGE UPDATE on the release of the Beta for HotS.
The company has tweaked the balance for “Heart of the Swarm” quite a bit ahead of a beta of the game expected to release in the weeks after the event.
Now, usually I would not pay attention to articles from a somewhat unknown website (at least to me), but this time it is extremely special and I want to say reliable information as it was provided directly by MLG's own Adam.
To also back this up, for those of you who still want more, a quick search revealed that GameSpy, a well known website, powered by IGN, belives that
it's a safe bet we'll be able to start playing the StarCraft 2: Heart of the Swarm beta in late June.

Blizzard gave BlizzCon attendees Beta keys for WoL, and since this partnership with MLG seems to be what Blizzard is using as "BlizzCon," it would only be normal to hand out beta keys to attendees with the known upcoming Beta. Man I wish it was open, but this is pretty awesome.
It's going to be weird, we're going to have to wait so so long for stable gameplay.

Rushing? Their original time line was 18 months after wings of liberty which was jan 2012. They're already months behind their schedule. Doesn't seem like they're rushing anything to me. |

And some key mechanic changes, same with WC3's expansion. Thing is that at least in the latter case we didn't really know about it until a week or so before the beta. Can we wait to see what the beta holds for us at the MLG event before we rush to judgment?
But I suspect the guy you're quoting was being sarcastic/cheeky because there is no way that 2 years after WoL is rushing. That's rushing about the same as a 6-pool that hits at the 12 minute mark would be rushing. >.> |

| I hope they surprise us with major tweaks and improvements in the game mechanics that they haven't mentioned before. New units are nice, but I think other, more subtle tweaks in general macro and micro could improve the game. |
