hi everyone. new streamer here.
i'm a Plat level zerg trying to work my way up the NA ladder.
the main goal of my stream is to appeal to the many sc2 players out there who are similar to me. i.e. mid-level players trying to get better.
i hope to provide an interactive environment where there is a mutual benefit to both the stream viewers and me whereas i can learn from the viewers as much as if not more than they learn from me.
let's face it, there's only so much you can benefit as a mid-level player watching grand masters stream even though it is likely very entertaining.
so, come watch me if you want to see the struggles of a plat zerg as i attempt to move up the ladder, learn and practice new strategies, see what works vs zerg as i lose numerous games.
if i can get some viewers, i will purchase some software in order to commentate games. right now, it's just my games and some music going on.
stream quality is not that great. again, if people show interest, i will work on some ways to improve the stream. unfortunately, i'm limited to 1.5 mbps upstream in my small town, but i might be building a new comp soon which will hopefully help some.
stream times will typically be anywhere between mid-afternoon to late into the night/early morning east-coast time. insomniacs welcome.

UPDATE: i switched to xsplit, and i'm getting better quality. it's not great, but it's a lot better than it was before. http://www.twitch.tv/jug_jug/b/316642668
UPDATE 2a: sorry to the one person who tuned in w/out volume. i plugged in a mic, and it messed up my xsplit settings without me knowing. it's fixed. thanks for pointing it out.
UPDATE 2b: please forgive me for the time being if i don't respond quickly in chat between games. i'm averaging about 1 chat message per 10 hours streaming, so i'm not great about checking it after every game :/
UPDATE 3 (5/10/12): link added to almost midnight blitz thread - Almost Midnight Blitz TL thread

So, I'm not sure if this is OK, but I feel like this is a pretty major development.
I somehow overcame my lack of comp skills and now have the mic up and running for commentary. I believe the stream is also in better quality than it was.
I'm going to stream for a few games and will be posting a sample at the end of my session.
EDIT: As promised, here is a link to a game followed by some sort of replay analysis. I'm kind of just talking aimlessly at some points in the vods, but I'd been up for like 36+ hours during recording. You can get the idea anyway. I'm pretty happy with the quality compared to where I started a few days ago. Enjoy.
ZvZ stream vod with commentary
Above ZvZ replay with commentary/analysis (kind of)
...i actually decide to watch the replay in the second link around 3 mins into it.Last edit: 2012-05-02 21:04:05 |

| Hey man, cheers for setting up those cool "Almost Midnight Blitz" tourneys. I really like the analytical side of your casting, particularly how you're able to relate to and rationalize a lot of low-level mistakes and then provide advice or feedback rather than just slamming the players as bad. Keep up the good work! |

| Hey JugJug. I just watched a vod of you casting one of the low level tournies. I really enjoyed the games and your casting. I think the players (and myself) can learn a lot from seeing you point out low level mistakes. I would say that you were slightly biased towards the zerg players and you didn't seem to celebrate the win of the protoss player who won the tournament over the zerg but rather only commenting on how annoying it is to lose to colossus. Just a small thing but I feel like it is better to mention things the players are doing well, I liked where you comment that the protoss is really keeping up with his probe production. |

thanks everyone.
it's going to be impossible for me to cast these every night of the week, so i'm trying to recruit some other casters.
i hope to continue running the almost midnight blitz every night, but it will likely be 5 or 6 nights a week soon in order to be practical. |
