| His builds remind me of some of my low level friends who can faux theory-craft themselves into buying anything, like FM on Ashe ("It synergizes with her Q. You build Spellvamp on Vlad, why not FM on her? I win all my games with it"). For all we know, he's doing the exact same thing but getting away with it at top ELO rather than level 15 games. I personally find him stronger in a jungle role. He gets counterjungled easily - which can be prevented by a good team-, but his ganks are completely insane. A hook, a knockup, a slow and a snare?

Look at what Anivia has.
1:1 scaling on an aoe stun (if you can get the double hit)
1:1 scaling on a point and click nuke (if you can link it with something else)
20% aoe attackspeed debuff/ .25 scaling dot.
a unique form of zone control (Riot has said they will never release anything else like it due to potential trolling)

Trundle's pillar isn't nearly as devistating to a team mate than a level 5 anivia wall completely locking them under an enemy turret.
Edit: On Anivia I like to lead with e then r before the particle connects, if they want to flash away I'm cool with that. If the double damage will hit because the r is applied before the e hits, and then you can q stun wall and e will be off cd for another double damage proc. The whole combo does like 4 seconds of ultmate ticks 2 1:1 e's and a 1:1 q, so with 200 ap and lvl 5 e its 1500 damage just from the scaling and e base damage. Warmog's Cass and Hotshot's Cho builds all make sense. Cass because she has ridiculous base damage on extremely low cooldowns; she can afford to build tanky because she still deals tons of damage. And HSGG's Cho... not sure what you see him do that would not make any sense...
No idea what chu8's Maokai is.

she only gains up to 20 armor and that is at the highest level
" Upon dying, Anivia will revert into an egg and will get an armor and magic resistance modifier of -40 / -25 / -10 / +5 / +20."
GA still makes you untargetable during the respawn where you can kill anivia's egg all you want during that whole period
this makes her extremely weak if she gets egged in any sort of AoE spell and it has the 5 minute cooldown over GA
its not nearly as good as people make it out to be |
