Good luck and good hunt though
If someone wants to cast, it's their freedom to cast matches. Breaking into the scene will be much harder, but that shouldn't stop them from doing something that they love.
I would love to post my info here, but I have a very different style of casting so I'll think about it (less analysis, more play-by-play). It's generally the type that most people "hate" on SC2 forums.

No way man, most of the people posting so far are self-described analytical types.. I'm actually more int erested in play by play people to cast with atm than another analytical caster
play by play casters are just as important as analytical casters. This doesn't excuse a lack of knowledge or a lack of ambition to study the game, but all casts need both to be the best of the best.

Hey guys, great thread! I wish you the best on your improvements and trying to get noticed as casters. I understand all the discussions recently about casters at the high end not working hard enough and almost don't deserve to stay where they are, so I hope you can work harder and get noticed!
I agree with everything that has been said and try to further myself as a caster every single day, I have weaknesses and areas that I know I am not as good as I could be and its great to see people working as hard.
Topics like this are needed and maybe in the future, I could be working with some-one right here!
This is a good idea. Back in the Broodwar days when you had people like the SC2GG people casting (Moletrap, Klazart, Diggity, Rise, Cholera etc), they all had their own individual channels, but they also often did dual or even triple casts of games with various pairings. It means that the casters can get experience of working with people (so as to not talk over them etc) as well as potentially increase the quality of the casting.
One problem with SC2 casting from replays is syncing, but you can always use things like Replay Sync (http://www.teamliquid.net/forum/viewmessage.php?topic_id=232381) assuming it still works. I think the ESV guys use this on the weeklies, or something else which does the same job.
HOLY CHECK!

Casting experience: 2 months, 1 local lan, solo and duo casting of amatuer and professional level games
Comments about myself as a caster: I am new, but I am driven and I feel I have natural talent. I have a public speaking background and a 'quality of voice'. I have absurd amounts of free time right nowt to cast all day every day. I feel that I am skilled at 'play by play' but I also watch a ton of starcraft and have a very analytical and close eye so I am certainly able to provide some analytical insight.
What I'm looking for: I am currently doing this for fun, but I can honestly see myself trying to make it into something more if it is something that I am truly good at and people respond well.
Can I stream: In beautiful 1080p
Links to examples of your casting (optional): youtube.com/beefpotpie1
How to get in touch with me: twitter - @beefpotpie1, -beefpotpie1@gmail.com, twitch pm - Beefpotpie1, youtube PM - /beefpotpie1, TL PM.
Casting experience: LAN ETS (offline tournament in Canada), Zowie Divina (offline tournament in China). Online tournaments: Playhem EU & NA, Iron Lady Leetgion Tournament, Korean Star League (NsHs vs. oGs), GameCreds EU, ESL BENELUX Qualifier no.5 and IEM BENELUX Qualifier.
Comments about myself as a caster: I do play by play & color but I also do a bit of analysis. I'm struggling to find the right balance. I have a French accent. I casted mostly in English so far but I can cast in French aswell. I rarely did solo casting so far.
What I'm looking for: feedback, new casting opportunities and new contacts.
This thread is a fantastic idea! We've got practice partner thread for players, so why not aspiring casters?
One thing a lot of newer casters don't realize is just how much of the job becomes being involved with the production side of things as much as it is casting/studying the game. I'd encourage you guys to look at video editing, graphic design, etc together as well. Knowing a bit of that side of things will make you a lot more valuable to an organisation when the time comes to get into the professional part of casting. Hardly any full-time casters work only with the game all day. As an example, I was spending a lot of my time at the IGN office working on graphics for Tournament of Champions right before IPL4. Most organisations aren't large enough to have their casters -only- study/play/cast all day and will need you to pitch in with some other duties so be prepared!
At any rate, good luck! I'm always happy to answer PMs with questions about the industry if people have them so feel free!
Casting experience: A year experience, will do my first live event this 12th
Comments about myself as a caster: I cast both in spanish and english, I really enjoy duocasting, I don't care what league the other person is, or their experience, I've co-casted for the first time with a lot of guys Live without making it sound awkward.
What I'm looking for: Have fun, meet other casters/commentators, create more content and improve my analysis.
Casting experience: Personal stream and show HardCorey Time
Comments about myself as a caster: I started a project called Question Time where I went and replied to strategy forum posts with replays and did some analysis. I like posing questions and I like discussing things.
What I'm looking for: Something and someone to get be back into it and become more focused. I'll cast and do shows nonstop for a couple weeks and then abruptly stop. Id love to continue with my strategy forum improvement project as well, and it might be stronger if I have some back and forth discussion instead of me just talking out of my ass the whole time.
I want us to become friends who watch games together over Skype
^from the OP, This is what I would want as well.
Can I stream: Yes, not the best quality though. Don't have the greatest internet speeds.
1v1 League and race: Protoss, high silver, random, low silver
Age: 16
Casting experience: I've got a small youtube running with 10 or so games on it but i cast alot on live stream as well
Comments about myself as a caster: My casting as general is quite good but my mouse control is really bad... I often try to predict what will happen to quick so for long periods you will be looking at a blank space than a single viking will come along. how ever I am a very passion caster and some of my youtube stuff wont show that because I fail at casting at a time when I'm not tired...
What I'm looking for: Small tornament to do casting for... "work experinence" I guess But really any casting experience is good all the same
1v1 League and race: Used to be Masters, now Plat (now time for the game, sadly) Protoss
Age: 22
Casting experience:
- GameCreds Cup - Go4SC2 - i43 (With Totalbiscuit and dApollo) - Grubby Pro Invitaional #1 - Craft Cup - Imbalonian SC2 Cup - Zotac Cup - 4PL Close Combat Cup - World Cyber Games Germany
Comments about myself as a caster:
I cast both in German and in English. I grew up bilingual, so my English is pretty good, though I do have problems with the "th." I first came in to the SC scene with BW, but did not have a lot of interest. I played it occasionally. But then, when SC2 came out I was hooked and did a lot of all nighters. After some time I started casting and uploaded my first VODs to Youtube. I reached 1000 subs in 2 month, from zero. After some time I started live casts and head a peek of 3.000 concurrent viewers casting the first Grubby Pro Inv in German.
But it was too much. I casted 5 days a week, each day around 9 hours. After 3 months I could not stand SC2 any more. I took a long break and haven't gone back to casting yet, although I would really love to.
What I'm looking for: Some tournaments or something like it, every week, that last for like 4 hours max.
League : Plat, used to be almost masters when i played/casted, Terran/Random
Age : 26
Experience : Co pro casts with huk, qxc, demuslim, including Day9 countdown party. steelseries sponsored America vs Europe showmatch. CSL Regina. sc2casts.com koth. glhf.it invitational. gosuguide showmatches. numerous other beta and post release events.
Comments : i love casting. i miss it so much. it was a tough decision to give it up but some family/personal stuff prevented me from continuing when i was big into the scene. i am so passionate about starcraft and always have been.
What i'm looking for : to casually get back into the scene and maybe help out some aspiring commentators.
Can i stream? : Yes, but ive always preferred recording.
Comments on my casting: I have a great knowledge of the game due to my playing experience. My casts tend to be of my own ladder games, where I break down my thought process in game and showcase effective builds on ladder.
My casting style varies somewhat. I can easily switch into a hardset analytical mode of casting, and often do at key points in the game. Yet I also like to keep my games exciting, which means pumping up the action I see on screen. This leads to a hybrid of casting that my loyal subscribes quite enjoy.
I also do "Live" games where I cast while I play, and many of my subscirbers have found these very helpful.
Unfortunately, I am unable to stream due to my lack-luster internet speed.
What I am looking for: Other like-minded well-established commentators PM me about Co-casting with them!

I mean here's a sample of what happens when I cast:
Note that I did casts for OSL Preliminaries for this season while also doing some SC2 casts, then decided to learn more about SC2 with the upcoming transition.
Casting experience: now 6 months of just casting my own games 5 days a week, just moved up to a 6th where I Cast a friend'S games.
Comments about myself as a caster: I played SC1, then fell Into theatre/music/improv for about 13 years, and have now come back to try my hand at gaming. After becoming a Fan of so many gamers online, I thought I should pick up SC2 and see if I could be any good at it. I've found a lot of other bronze/silver casters and we've all sort of clung on to each other for some advice, some good times and a lot of laughs. It's not all about pro, sometimes it's about the game.
What I'M looking for: Advice & fun. Nothing else.
Can I stream: I tried, but then fell behind the tech. May try again.
