Today when I booted up my PC I noticed my network card wasn't working, so I decided to take it off the PC and put it back on in another PCI slot. After that when I booted my PC up again, my monitor would not get a signal from the graphics card, which was working fine just before. I've tried taking it off and back on again, but no luck. I've made sure both DVI ports are secured but my monitor will still remain black. I'm pretty stumped- no idea what to do now T.T
Any help?

Graphics card is an HD6850 and the monitor is an Asus 22''
EDIT: I'm pretty sure the PC is booted up, the lights in the front panel are on and i can hear the fans. just that nothing is appearing on screen. Last edit: 2012-05-06 21:41:46 |

Tried goin in with onboard graphics and checked your bios settings?
Maybe the card crashed? Had same problem once with an nvidia 220gt just didnt worked from one to the other day....
Did you also check if the graphics-fans is clean n stuff?
Just to make sure its not your main board try it on an other pc. |

| I had a very similar problem a few weeks back. Turns out My MB was broken, all I did was install an SSD. Post system specs, do you have another GPU/an integrated gpu? Also do you get a POST beep? |

| What to do if card crashed? might be possible cos IIRC this has happened before. No, haven't tried removing network card yet. Is it possible that only the PCI slots are not working on the MB? Because the computer is obviously booted up. My motherboard is a Gigabyte P61-USB3-B3. |

| Today when I got home it booted up just fine.. T.T, wth the screen working. Now I'm confused...what was the cause of it not working yesterday? T.T However, now the network card doesn't work. When I try connecting to a wifi hotspot and I get the prompt to input a password, when I input the password and click enter my whole computer lags, the cursor doesn't move and I have to force shut down.. T.T |

Did you remove/re-insert your network card?
Are you sure you fitted it in correctlly? Also check for any dirt/dust that might have gotten in there while inserting/removing your network card. Cause i've had the same problem, there happened to be dust in my pci slot (for my network card)

| Fixed it by using another driver, internet working again. However when I play Sc2, my graphics card crashes without warning now... :/ is this some sort of conflict of the 2 drivers? |

| Sounds like the problem I have. I had a network card that I didn't need anymore, removed it, and started having problems when running sc2. Reinserted the card, problem was still there. Went into device manager and manually disabling the card fixed it. I suppose you can probably do something like that, without disabling the network card completely. |

| seems like a problem with your pci slots conflicting. Have you reinstalled both drivers? Make sure that when you reinstall the drivers it doesn't just update, but does a full clean uninstall then reinstall. A cheap fix for this would be to pick up a usb wireless stick. |

a more accurate description of the problem would be basiaclly my whole computer freezes up, the lights at the front panel stop blinking, cursor doesn't move and i have to force restart. this can happen at any time with no warning. this only started to happen after i installed my new drivers; is this a driver conflicting thing or something wrong with the PCI Slots?
EDIT: and yes if im playing stuff like music there will be a loud buzzing noise when it crashes. not able to play sc2 t.t so annoyingLast edit: 2012-05-08 20:15:06 |

Yeh same here, í've had problems with my PCI wireless for along time.
I switched it for a wireless usb stick and havent had any problems since.
Its also faster than my old PCI card. It costed me around 25 euro's.Last edit: 2012-05-08 20:11:35 |

| Had some problems once i put 2 more ddr's in it. Happend quite fluent but still could play sc n stuff even tho it crashed from time to time. I just need to clean it quite fluently, since i do it doesn't rly happen anymore. |
