Maybe the title is a tad misleading, but I wanna know - cause I wanna a big fan of LotR in SC1 - did any SC1 LotRish pros, get to like high diamond or master? I think it'd be really cool to have someone who knows both LotRish really, and league really well.
For those who don't know, LotRish is a really competitive BW UMS genre, in SC2 we usually chill in the chat channel "lotr", where we play War of the Ring, Post LotR, Rise of Sauron, Pre LotR, stuff like that(Those are a few of my favorites, but there are others). LotR is hero based but includes spawn armies, which spawn from bases. If a base dies, units of that base stop spawning. There's a lot to it, and you'd be surprised how much an effect spellcaster hero units like Defilers, can affect melee hero units like zealots, or ranged hero units like hydralisks. Stuff like that.
Still the question remains, are there any pro LotRish players who went pro sc2? |

| -.- I played LotR and it wasnt a 'really competitve" UMS game, Diplomacy 7.7/Desert Storm were, they actually had prize pools and such, but I played it once or twice and I am ranked somewhere in the 20's master league. 21-19 400-450 pts |

| I'm Masters and I played a lot of basically pre-LoTRish maps. Mostly LoTR LA, RoTK, Clash. But seriously, Heaven's Last Stand was where it was at. |

| jesus diplomacy much guys. that was the best. I would play it with my friends lik everyday. I miss those days T.T I did play lotr ums alot too tho. |

I am not sure about LotRish players but like someone said, diplomacy 7.7 was very competitive. Is there a channel or a popular sc2 custom for it out? I had some good times playing it.

Heaven's Final Hour > Heaven's Last Stand yo. There's a SC2 version but that's a bit lame.
I was a pretty active HFH player after I quit laddering. Me being Masters now (or rather last season) is more to do with my laddering on BW as well though. |

I'm low masters and played a ton of RoS, WoT WoP, and SoG.
Played HLS too, which really did have the best UMS competitive community for awhile. |

Same here...I could never really get into them.
I loved DotA (including DX, Allstars, Darkness Falls and all the runty children), AoM, AotZ, Hero Arena 6.6a (the best one), LoaP, Sol's Open RPG, and a couple I can't remember atm... |

There is a SC2 version, but I don't really like it. You really learn to appreciate the mapmaking work that went into the original. |

| u know alot of wc3 maps in wc3... just felt right. DotA felt right, alot of custom games felt right based on the environment and models. Although sc2 is Superior in terms of graphics.... it just doesnt feel as right. If anything, i rather go back wc3 just to play custom games and play sc2 for ladder only. |

| The WC3 LOTR maps were the shit, I really wish it was as easy to get into LOTR games with SC2 as it was with BW and WC3. Wasn't aware that these maps were competitive. |
