It wasn't as much DRG draining forcefields as Ace using way too many forcefields. I suppose since DRG has good multitasking he just kept on pressuring Ace so he would make a mistake, but it doesn't seem like the best plan if that was his plan. |

What, they should be deferential to DRG because he's the king or something? DRG played pretty ordinarily today. Better than ace but these games weren't good. And like I said before the "freeing up supply" was blundering roaches away; a better protoss wouldn't have used so many forcefields. |

Ace's build here really shows why it is important to get a 4th base as a Z versus these late 2 base timing attacks. It's only 300 minerals (and a drone ofc), and you don't need to saturate it until you've seen that the attack is a "fake".
If you don't have it, you're stuck at 200/200 with Roach/Ling, as well as gas starved so you have trouble teching to infestor/hive/broods. With it, you can easily dispatch 8 drones for those geysers. |

That was bad play from DRG; ace made way too many forcefields. A more conservative and less frantic protoss would have had a very good chance of winning against DRG. There's freeing up supply and then there's losing lots of units for little reason. Also the "unfortunate pathing error" - yeah I think if you want to be a top player you should avoid accidentally sending all your probes into the enemy army. Of course it was a mistake but you can't make mistakes like that.
yeah but they made it sound like ace simply made a nexus and forgot to mine there, as if he was, stupid or something. also, do you really think DRG could have made that many infestors that arguably won him the game unless he freed up supply? and drg identfiied that given that he was going infestor roach the only thing that could really kill him was too many ff's is what i think tbh... |
