My guess definitely is high dex and as much ias as possible but Im not sure how much vita and resists I need.
The general rule I use is: enough survivability to not get one shot by hard to dodge or unavoidable damage, rest into more damage. So for Act 1, enough to survive the Butcher's arc chain attack. Forgot to add that the best defense the DH has is stacking as much damage and max discipline as you can, and killing things before you run out of discipline.
How much survivability is that? Is 25k health, 2k armor and 100 or so resists enough? |

if your damage is decent, then its easily enough for act1. in act2, you will probably die A LOT with these stats though. |

ya you definitely need more hp or resists if your trying to go into a tanky build, otherwise I think it would be best if you just maximized your damage and killed things before they got to you Last edit: 2012-05-28 17:44:03 |

Pure tank monks with 60k+ hp, 800+ resists, and good dodge can barely tank act 3-4, so there is no point for a DH to even try. When you tank up you have to go 100% all out otherwise it isn't going to do anything. Past act 2 it is always better to go 100% dps. |

Any tips on belial inf? sitting at 32k dps before sharpshooter and i can't burn him down fast enough in p2; he has >50% health when the vipers start coming, and then i get overwhelmed. I managed to get him to p3 only 2 times, but died due to being too greedy with the damage. build i found best for this |

Actually trying a ShadowPower/gloom tanky build. I'm at 250 all res, 36hp, 42k DPS. Thanks to this, white mobs don't oneshot me, and i can tank most mobs with ease with Gloom and Nether spam. Elites are hit and miss. Those who have fast or invulnerable are the most problematic usually, because they will close in alltogether and kill me even under gloom. Invulnerable is still a leave game and reload sadly. I use SS only to avoid death situations, coupled with tumble and the ability that give more Ms after it.
I'm at the Zoltan Kulle quest in inferno right now. I have to retrieve the body right now. |

I feel kind of weak. I have somehow managed to finish almost half of act 2. I can easily kite most stuff and resist one or two hits, the problem is that I just don't kill stuff fast enough, I have been skipping every rare and champion pack I see because I know I'm done for if I ever even attempt to take them down.
What are things you think I could improve there?
http://us.battle.net/d3/en/calculator/demon-hunter#aRYdTV!TeY!YcZbZc That's the build I'm using btw
PS: Also, sorry for all the French in the menus

any DH having success farming inferno act 2?
by success I mean not getting one shot and being able to kill all champions and elite mobs.
I can easilly farm act 1, but for act 2 my gear is just terrible lol
so, I'm curious to know how are you guys gearing for act 2 and beyond.
thanks! |

When fighting champions with mortor what's the best approach ? Going up close or going at max range and dodging mortors?
How do you fight reflect damage I end up killing myself lol |

Max range mortars (can be done against many affixes, pretty sure it works against vortex, teleport and waller too).
Reflect is a pain. Just rotate through what you have to heal yourself with (pot and preparation heal). Also try to use smoke screen when you're about to do the most damage (when your nuke is about to pass through several mobs at once), and keep using it until you run out of discipline. Other than that Nether Tentacles helps to get a little bit hp back.Last edit: 2012-05-28 22:16:38 |

Having the same problem. Act 1 so easy, but act 2 I can't kill any reflect or invulnerable minion packs. It makes things very tedious. I have 35k dps and about 26k hp almost no resists. Act 1 doesn't seem worth farming and act 2 seems very inefficient right now. I'm getting a bit sick of it. |

If I had 32k DPS I could crush him. But my 16k DPS makes it insane . |
