You have to learn the timings for when it is summoned. The window to smokescreen is very tiny.
i don't think you understood me. i can get away from it fine at first. the problem is diablo comes back before the 60 seconds are up and you have 2 people on a small field who can 1shot you and blend into the background perfectly. the bigger problem is that the clone is a DH and will shoot you from far away (so far it's 80% of the time been from below where the goddam UI is taking up a third of my screen). seriously phase 1 is ezpz. phase 2 diablo is ezpz too. fucking shadow clone fuckfuckfuckfuck.
Shadow clones are the worst of it. Overcome it and thou shall triumph! What skill set are you using?
SS/linger companion/bat prep/backup vault/acrobatics hunger/puncture elem/nether tact steady archery 58k dps
I highly recommend Tumble over Acro here, it gives you some extra distance that you can cover even if it costs Disc the availability of a movement invoker helps alot.
distance isn't a problem. well it is but the lack of maximum distance that i can put between myself and my opponents due to the small stage is a problem. getting far asap isn't a problem. |

I can recommend Impale with the Impact rune (is that the name of the stun rune?). Just keep an eye on the minimap and whenever Diablo disappears get ready to stunlock the shadow clone and burst him down. The key here is to SS in time to avoid damage and even more important always have full hatred when the clone appears so you can get max dps for the short time you can survive. If you got him down get ready to vault away as Diablo teleports on you. I havent done it in Inferno this way as im only in the middle of Act 3 but it worked in a 4 player game in Hell (with hell gear). So if you build full DPS you should be able to burst the shadow down in seconds

What do you guys think about 1hand xbows? after thinking and testing a bit they seem superior to 2handers IF you get good dps ones with sockets on both as you can have +crit damage gems on both. Ofc its not easy getting 2 1200+ DPS 1 hand xbows with sockets but since you have in theory the possibility to get +crit damage AND a socket on both (and other usefull stuff like +discipline) they seem like they best choice once you reach the very high end gear, dont you think?
Edit: You also have naturally higher attack speed which makes ias items less useful which is positive seeing as the nerf for those items is incoming. So you can just stack more dex (moar damage) which has the same effect on your damage as ias has on slow shooting 2hand xbows. If you still want more attack speed you have the benefit of having a higher chance of on hit effects helping you in a fight. you also regen hatred faster which lets you spam skills with on hit effects even more (elemental arrow with the fear rune (screaming skulls?!) the downside of is that kiting becomes less effective as you "waste" attackspeed because you cant stutterstep that fast aswell as the fact that a single use of a spell does less damage because your weapon damage is most likely lower (the DPS however is not)Last edit: 2012-06-09 10:17:27 |

however if you get that passive which regens discipline on crit, you can throw down caltrops for DAYS |

| so for my next weapon upgrade im aiming for a 1.3k dps crossbow. however, since im using the generic sharpshooter build, an extra crit damage modifier on the weapon would be welcome, but those are super expensive together with high dps. so i wonder, would it be worth to sacrifice like 200 weapon dps for the crit modifier of ~50%? my guess is not, but does anyone have experience? |

look for a socketed magic weapon within your criteria. It might be cheaper. |

Pretty sure the gem on one hand only applies to the hand currently in rotation. So your gem in your non cycled hand doesnt benefit your current attacking hand. |

I am certain they both benefit since they are socketed on to you as a part of your gear, it's not Critcal Damage increase on hit or anything it's a flat increase. |

Yea im pretty sure both get counted for every hit seeing as the crit damage in the details remained the same when i tested it (it stayed 90% over what i had before when i used 2 45% gems)

to kill shadow clone, you need rain of vengeance with the final rune. have ss, and wait for full cutscene. then when the scene ends throw it down where shadow clone will pop. right after you throw it down, start spamming nether tentacles which should crit. the stun leaves tiny gaps where they could possibly shoot you so make sure to ss just in case.
next time, you just have to watch d closely for when he disappears, ss/vault and lure the clone into a stun |
