Supernova isn't cheesy? I would somewhat agree MC is cheesy (more timingattacky than anything), but Supernova is totally legit.
nope. SuperNoVa is cheesy as MC and his TvP games are cheesefest.
Bullshit. SuperNova is the guy who beat Genius 2-0 in the Ro16 by using lategame Nukes and multi-pronged harassment. There are Terran players who do just cheese all the time, but SuperNova is not one of them. You are talking out of your ass.
yeah, he did beat genius in macro game, this means he always playing macro TvP.
seems legit.Last edit: 2012-05-13 21:50:26 |

With the current state of TvP I'm not surprised if you see people doing early aggression or "cheese"
Amen, people complained when MVP 'cheesed' nani and hero out of the GSL, but the protoss metagame just got a bit too greedy and it was punished. |

Yeah and MC do a lot of timing attacks and allins, but he is not cheesy. |

It's pretty legit. Supernova has had strong TvP for a very long time. But if you cheese once then I guess you're a cheesy Terran, and all of your hard work is discredited in one poorly grammaticized sentence by a disgruntled fan. |

| Would be cool if KT or one of the BW teams signed up forGG or supernova. They could help and coach some of the BW players. |

Wow the members of e-sports federation aren't signing them either? there's something going on outside of sponsorships it looks like....
In other news I'm really sad about this type of thing. Teams dying in SC2 is never a good sign, especially when this one was partnered loosely with Team Liquid for so long and Supernova starting to really look strong. |

They want to give them a chance to try and sort something out. It's a self preservation thing for all the other teams as well anyway. They show this gesture of goodwill and solidarity now on the basis that if they ever find themselves in a similar situation, they will hope that other teams will respect them enough to not steal players while they are weak.Last edit: 2012-05-15 07:59:24 |

Why? All reports I've seen say that GOM is doing better than ever. Just because a team that lost it's two biggest stars lost it's main sponsor speaks nothing about GOM or how well it's doing. Even without oGs, they have eleven teams in the GSTL and could probably get a 12th if need be. |

Well, you know much more than me, and I am glad you corrected me. Because I like GOM and their product. I was just thinking, the Korean SCII market is looking so shaky, great players moving away, uncertainty. A league should be able to keep it's second most famous team from the old days. It is probably nothing but, I think a lot of these Koreans might switch leagues to play with their childhood heroes. Kespa is probably a dream for them, or some of them.
I would be surpriced if there won't be a rivalry between GOM and Kespa. Kespa just got a victory with signing MLG. This looks like a blow for GOM. A lot of foreigners really like OGS, myself included. Luckily for GOM the level of play is 3 times higher in the GSL. But when the old bw pros catch up, 1 league is going to fall I think.
But I am rather uninformed about this. Just me thinking.

| Geez, that doesn't sound good. Definitely reflects the trend in S. Korea away from SC2 towards LoL. Gonna miss that team though, them and TL were probably the first two teams I watched /: |

I don't know; I remember some pro-gamers and coaches saying how much more they liked the freedom of not being under Kespa. If the MLG exclusivity deal is true, they might prefer to go to other events like IPL or Dreamhack.

I don't think that it's that big a blow for GOM. They have a deal with IPL and will hold a GSL finals at IPL5. It's not like players who play in the GSL will be banned from playing in MLGs or anything, either. GOM's also got Tastosis; I'm not sure who Kespa can get for English casters who have the same kind of fanbase. GOM'll probably be fine, I'm not worried about them. |

"@Square_Zero: What was your toughest game as a progamer?
A : I can't give you a specific game. There was a period when I had a very tough time, though. I didn't even wanna go to the stadium. It was when we had the red uniforms. Our team was under-performing so we all shaved our heads. We dragged our feet to our matches and were barely able to play through the games." |

It would be nice to have stability and all but I don`t get arguments like "oh, they're switching to a new game, this is why esports will never work".
Do you see anyone switching from soccer to the new sport I invented called astroball? No. Why is that? It's because soccer is huge. Millions of people make a living off it, up to the billions watch it. What about smaller sports? Hockey? Curling? Lacrosse? All many orders of magnitude larger than any esport (yes, including BW). And it wasn't even SC2 that killed BW, it was more casual games and declining interest.
When esports get to the same order of size as regular sports we can start talking about having the same longevity as regular sports. |
