Hi all. Just as you guys I have been eagerly awaiting this game.
However now my PC really craps up when playing this game.
Before you ask, Yes I have lowered EVERYTHING in the options menu, and disabled/enabled whatever it suggests to boost performance. Also I have a 50/10 mbit connection, so I don't think it's my internet which is too slow.
I have a
Interl(R) Core i5 CPU M450 @ 2.4 GHz
3.8 GB RAM
64-bit windows 7
ATI Mobility Radeon 5650 HD
Lots of space on my harddrive as well.
What is my problem????

laggy slow? or graphics delay? low fps?
my guess is your pc isn't up to par with diablo. What resolution are you playing in? |

I am guessing Laggy slow... Currently I am playing all low settings and have chosen windowed because that should be "easier" on my computer.
AFAIK no spyware or virus (have a pretty good program for that).
Not playing with browser or anything like that either.
Processor is Interl(R) Core i5 CPU M450 @ 2.4 GHz
However I run SC2 just fine.

could just be an issue with the way d3 behaves with your graphics card. nothing new for newly released games. you should try to find out if people with similar cards are experiencing same issue.

Yup, laggy as hell. But I played during the stress test, and with a much crappier internet, so I figured it was just a internet/ping issue

for me its like max fps is 30, always at 30, never goes down, sometimes spikes up but mostly stable at 30, doesnt matter what options i turn off to low, doing it in window mode puts it to 60 and if i change one thing in options it goes back to 30 :3 weird shit but if it is on my end (not sure about that) i can live with that
its just weird cuz i can play all my other games on max just fine (sc2, bf3 etc) |

Everything about your computer, and the fact that the servers are like a meat grinder right now.

| i would go with more ram. i believe the reason it works fine with sc2 and not this is that its two totally different type of process being done. in sc2 the most tasking thing is the unit movement, with D3, your computer needs to render a whole world plus unit movement. there is just more that your pc needs to do, plus more ram usually fixed most things |

To the op (look people this is how to be usefull !):
you pc is well above the requirements of D3 and should be able to run it smoothly (yeah, radeon 5650 mobility is not the best graphic card ... so you should lower settings a bit), there is certainely a software problem behind this.
I know that ati released a hotfix for catalyst drivers dedicated to D3, you should definitely look into this.
Also the last time I tried (years ago ...) windowed mode decreased performance compared to fullscreen (with the same resolution, of course).Last edit: 2012-05-15 17:50:22 |

Also seems like my PC is slowest when I am in "open world". Not when I am in cellars and stuff.

| To the OP, make sure you don't have things running on the background before starting the game, you have a low amount of ram for a 64bit OS, so close browser, probably best to turn off your anti-virus etc, close skype etc. Set your game resolution to 1280x720 (assuming widescreen), and play full-screen, not windowed. Turn off v-sync if its on, there also an option to reduce decals, which might help you. |
