Ever since I installed Diablo 3, I get these crashes from my graphics card which says "You display nvidia geforce gts 250 version 290.16 has recovered from a kernel error." It only ever happens when I play Diablo 3. I can run Dota 2 on max settings and be fine, but every time I run Diablo 3 it happens constantly. I've tried updating it but I already have the newest version. I've also tried a clean install of the latest version, also to no avail. I highly doubt it's a fan/temp issue since I have like 4 fans haha but it's never have a temp problem before. During the game it runs at like.. 69 degrees? Something like that. I honestly just don't know what it is. I can say I've had it before a very long time ago with Dota 1, but it somehow fixed itself. I've also tried the nvidia support forums; but they were also no help. You guys are my last hope I seriously am thinking about just buying a new computer

That could be one of a hundred different things. Is that all the error message says? Have you checked Windows Event Viewer for driver errors?
That's all it says. It's happening to me. Used to happen quite a bit in all games but eventually stopped. Now it's started happening in D3 since nVidia forced me to update drivers in order to play. It's likely the driver conflicting with something, but I have a couple dozen processes running on my computer so it's next to impossible (since it's a random error and I can't force it) to test them all.
I just had one of these errors too on a 560, but I don't have D3. It kinda went all green then came up with that error. Are you able to go back to the old drivers you had or does it force you to update? You can download the old drivers again on the nvidia website, go to legacy and beta.

D3 only works on the latest 290 drivers. I had an older version, 280-something, and the game told me it wouldn't run unless I updated.

295.73 and 285.62 work fine with diablo 3
yeahit may say the game won't run, but its only really not supported. So it might be buggier, but not give you the dramatic crash. However if your GPU used to do this it sounds bad.
It's happened with two other cards (I've since replaced everything inside my computer, including graphics cards and it still happens). I'm going to rollback to 285.62 (I currently use the 296.10) and see if it still gives me an issue. Also, a friend found on the D3 support forums about limiting your foreground fps to 50, that's seemed to help some people.
Rolling the drivers back to 285.62 and capping my fps fixed this issue with me. Played for about three hours with zero issues. Until BNet shat itself, but that's not on my end.

Really sorry I haven't replied to this thread. Yeah I'll give what you said a go lavit2099 because I honestly have no problems with any other game, even Dota 2 in the highest detail >_> Thanks everyone so far and I pray it works :D
