Actually, when ghosts went from 100/200 to 150/150 some terran players called it a nerf because they now cost more minerals (which took away from the terrans core army). 4 gases (main/nat) is enough for 3 bases of minerals
Actually ghosts cost 200/100 now, not 150/150. Quite a big mineral nerf.
Yeah it was 150/150 to 200/100. It was a buff to the early 2 base ghost pushes, but sucks now since they needed emp radius. Late game, the change was definitely a huge nerf. |

| So I'm probably a minority, but I liked the forced 4:3 view for SC2. It looked much more familiar/BW-esque proportions-wise. Wasn't a bad look at all imo |

Ghosts cost as much gas as a mutalisk. And zergs get 20 mutas and 50 banelings off 6 gasses. Terran at that stage of the game is getting 10 ghosts tops. You don't need 8 gas for that. You see those GSL Terrans floating 2500 gas late game with 0 minerals? That's cos they actually got additional unneeded gasses. When you getting 8 marines and 6 marauders at a time, that's over 1000 minerals and 150 gas. Add in 5 ghosts? Now it's over 2000 minerals and 650 gas. Terrans don't need gas after certain upgrades are obtained. and have no good gas sink
Ravens are pretty good, but the thing is they're easily countered and they take up Starports...
Its not even about ravens being bad, its just impossible to dumb ur gas with them because they take 60 seconds to build.
Would be cool if ravens could be build on reactors, you still need a techleb for the upgrades but after you could produce 2 at a time ezpz

| To everyone asking for an English stream, we'll see if if they can find a way to monetize the foreign audience. So far, I like how they've done this, as I'm used to Korean commentary and can get bits and pieces of it; but for everyone else who wants to understand what's happening without having to be OC about details, an official stream will probably not be forthcoming very soon; but they do have the people for it when they do get the means to make a stream. |

I personally enjoy the Korean stream even though I have no clue what they're saying, but their energy level makes the game interesting even if it's a protoss making some stuff and sending it in to win.

Maybe they should go for 20 ghosts and 15 vikings as Empire.Happy does... Last time I saw him doing this he stomped the protoss army pretty badly

On one hand, I'm sure they could attempt to leverage their partnership with MLG to provide reasonable English language streaming broadcasts. On the other hand, I would really be scared if they do so.
If they are really smart, KeSPA could possibly use MLG to get an introduction to Twitch, and then look at popular BW restreams for potential English casting talent.
There IS talent out there that could cast in English, and the technology has to be there (they already stream, right? Not like they would have to fly Gunrun out to set everything up by hand) so really I guess it's just a question of getting an observer, a desk, some microphones, and the right stuffed shirts that know English behind those microphones and the associated audio equipment for a second audio stream. |

| I passed out pretty early last night and missed Flash vs Effort in SC2. How was it? Did it look like each player at least knew what they were doing or was it more similar to Jaedong's game? |

I just skipped over the Flash vs Effort game, but both looked ok-ish. (They knew what they were doing) Effort was even pretty impressing and .. well .. steamrolled Flash from 4 bases. |

Here's a newsflash, at the lower levels, ANY race can "A-MOVE" to wins, because the lower levels are filled with poor macro, and a larger army alone will win games.
There are countless discussions, threads, and vods of players sitting at home massing probes/drones etc and then moving out with no micro at all. In fact, there was a thread about a guy making masters league only 1-aing mass stalker, without ever microing, ever.
The lower level problems aren't the race, it's the quality of player. In the lower levels, no race is "simple," or those players would be out of bronze league.

I play Protoss. This isn't a balance whine. I put "simplest" and "a-move" in quotes to kinda try to denote that there was a bit of sarcasm attached to the statements. Sorry, sarcasm doesn't carry well over the keyboard.
I don't think there's anything wrong with this mindset; it's just a statement of how things are -- can't fight with the truth so just accept it. Even in BW, toss was known as the race that took the least micro to be good with (a little more than an "a-move"). A lot of players would play as Toss to get high in iCCup cuz they knew that it mechanically took the least to play the race, it just took more brains. Zerg was a little harder because of how dependant they were on being able to macro properly and Terran would always just suck if you didn't know how to play it but Terran at the highest levels became the strongest race. These players are DEFINITELY NOT low level but looks like this mindset about how poeple look at each race initially still applies hence, things haven't really changed.
Anyway, I just said this because people were saying that the Protosses all won but the thing is, the protosses should have won because they were played the best. The Zergs didn't know how to macro well enough or how to flank properly and the Terrans didn't know how to get the correct compositions while the Tosses did. I think that a Toss that's kinda creative, good at seeing openings, and knows how to use AoE (storms, reavers, colossi) can beat the other race with much less effort. That's why I've played toss since forever

3) Can be done with Zerg and Terran too btw cuz (check 1) BUT it will take better play from a) zerg to go up to three bases, survive timing attacks, AND continually drone up and b) terran to tech up to at least medivacs while surviving and use stim properly against AoE such as that of Protoss.

Obviously we're not talking about bronze noobs here. These are still high masters players on KR with GM level macro and map awareness. When Protoss players go 9-1 amongst a relatively new player base I think that definitely shows something about the initial learning curves of the races.
