After the restart all tents and vehicles did not spawn. It's temporary

damn helicopter spawns. Just searched around airfield, south of airfield, east, west, devils mountain, around gorka nothing. They must be in berezhino or somewhere south. Another guy checked around stary and together we checked north of stary and around putoshka NOTHING

man this game is IMPOSSIBLE..i cant even get a gun before i die..and how come i cant attack with hatchet or knife??? i find one but wont let me equip. musta died 20 times already and i havnt even really got off the beach much..zombies just see you from forever away

Use that to get your bearing remember the coast runs laterally. Also clouds always go west to east. That should help you till you get a map. Also you can't use the knife to attack but you can use your hatchet. You right click the hatchet and select remove from toolbelt and it will go into your main weapon slot. When you get a main weapon just put your hatchet back on your toolbelt.
Some tips for zombies well you have to be patient. If I am starting a fresh character I usually creep through most towns. Check barns for weapons apartment buildings. Use that map and you will start to get a feel of the good buildings to go into for stuff. The ones with ! you definitely want to hit. Industrial isn't really useful starting out. Just residential areas and military and firehouses and hospitials.
Double tap shift to walk quitely and you can get pretty close to zombies without drawing aggro. Hope these tips help

The learning curve is really steep. We all suck for the first week, then things just start to click. Give it time. Dieing is the only way to improve.
www.dayzdb.com. When you first spawn go to deerstands and barns. Then, either slowly make your way north or go to a major city. Either locations teach you valuable skills and knowledge.

You can attack with the hatchet if you right click it while its on your toolbelt and press 'remove from toolbelt'. You then have to press reload for some reason.
You are not supposed to run past zombies. Sneak past them in crouch walk, or just crouch if they are far away.

Don't get attached to your stuff. Other players probably will shoot you on sight. Best place for fresh gear are the main cities Elektro and Cherno, and Balota airstrip. They are also the places that almost always have other players in them. And most of them will try to kill you.
Here is a good map to use: http://dayzdb.com/map#3.074.117 Learn where stuff is ASAP. Cities and Towns have roadsigns (in Russian). You are much safer away from the coast than near it. Farms usually have decent loot.The red dots (military spawns) have the best loot. They are also much more dangerous places to be. Stary Sobor and the big airport known as NW have the most red dots, and are also the most dangerous.
Before you go up north, you generally want a bunch of firepower, morphine, and the following things on your toolbelt: compass, box of matches, hatchet and hunting knife. Morphine and other medical supplies can be found in hospitals in both Cherno and Elektro, and the military tent camp in Cherno.
The inventory system is terrible, this guy does ok explaining the basics:
Use your sidearm for killing Zombies. Not your Lee Enfield (or other noisy as fuck weapon).
You probably should try to remember what types of houses you can and cannot enter.
Wish I had known some of this stuff when I started out.

Is my bus still parked where I left it? Or did someone from TL already grab it and take it to one of the camps?
Also, there's this group of two guys that like to camp on top of the hospital roof in Elektro. I've already seen them do it twice so just a heads up before anyone ventures into town.

The blue bus? that was yours? I found it in the woods and didn't think it was TL so i took it, but parked it just like 500m east of that position after riding for like 5 min. Didn't know it was yours!

This sounds like a really cool idea actually. We could just loot eachother afterwards, load the gear into some vehicles, pick up respawns and everyone gets their stuff back.

Ive been playing the game for almost a month now and the only vehicles me and my buddy had were useless tractors that you cant drive anywhere because theyre slow, loud and one seaters. but the point is that trust isnt gained easily even amongst TLers, yesterday our camp got raided and unknown guys were asking questions about camp sites on TS, one of them being grumblethorpe. (Korv talking about camp sites that he randomly found didnt help either, those were our camp sites and you compromised them, thanks for being a douche btw) learning not to talk about this stuff is a process that you have to learn for yourself, get your own camp site and when it gets compromised and you lose the only two spare sniper rifles you had and see how you lose trust.
We walked for most of the last 2 weeks and we got on fine, you have to understand that this game takes a lot of time where nothing happens, its not always riding around in vehicles and shooting survivors. ive had to run more than 8 km basically everytime i log in...
I think you and jochan are really clearly good guys, you seem to play mostly as a duo though. I know camp 1 is rarely used and kept really secret but you're free to go around with me and bk and the couple others and use our tents. not that our site isn't kept really secret either, but it's at least in regular use
