Whats the chances of this game running on a x1600? I haven't been able to find any detailed system specs and I
m going to be stuck on an old laptop for a while. I'm guessing it'd run like utter shit, but if anyone knows for sure it'd be nice to know. |

| Gah! My first time where I was having good weapons, a bag full of meat and water, lots of ammo and then I get 1 hit killed by a zombie while I was proned at 12k blood. So frustrating! |

I personally love these new zombies that actually can do something. I wish they would instakill everyone if they get in range, although not at this state since the zombies are bugged but I hope in arma 3 engine they can make wonders. |

They really don't want me to play this game anymore. What with the patches and broken updating software. Then when I get in it is always unplayable nighttime servers. TT I want to play. I hope they get everything sorted out quickly here. It has be stressful for rocket with so many people wanting everything fixed right away.
I got in to a sever with daytime but the zombie spawns are totally broken. I got like 5 zombies spawning next to me every second when I was holed up in a buildings.
It seems that you are supposed to get food just from zombies now. As there seems to be none spawning on the ground, but I just got two cans of food from killing 3-4 zombies. Last edit: 2012-06-18 18:21:31 |

I am not sure I like new patch+hotfix changes. 
Before this patch I had bunch of fun in the game, and it was fairly hard but a lot of fun. There were a lot of bugs that annoyed me but it is ALPHA - no reason to whine about it.
But now, after this 17.1.1 patch, I really don't have that much fun, reasons:
- Zombies are stranger then ever. There are crazy spawn rates/points, you often aggro them crouched or laying down even if you watch for LoS, they hear you inside the buildings even if you make zero noise, when they start attacking you some times can escape them by just moving a bit further and crouching but then there were Zombies I couldn't get off even by LoS hiding, getting on roofs, getting inside buildings, etc.
- Extra cruelity patch I like, starting out without the gun and neccessary stuff for survival is totally awesome but I have bunch of problems with loot. So last night I was gunless, without water nor food for hours... no loot at all. I visited like 5 villages, Cherno and Airstrip on 3 different servers (didn't cheat with server hopping to get loot, 3 times I was starting from start on different servers). For ALL the time I played 1.7.1.1 best I found was Heatpacks and Painkillers - no guns, no rifles, no food, no water, no bandages, nothing. Most of the loot spawns I saw were trash/junk loot (empty stuff).
- FPS. FPS got a lot worse after the 1.7.1 and 1.7.1.1...
P.S.
I can understand these things aint bugs or unintentional changes, but then... please tell me where to go to find at least damn plain gun with a bit of ammo, because this is just insane and not that fun. |

I just found an winchester 1866 and a crossbow in buildings right next to each other on a 7.1.1 server. Spawns are strange but not totally broken. |

| That's just the way spawns are in the game now. You'll go hours finding nothing, then find more things than you can carry. |

There's a chance that you either
1. were following some other guy who was taking all the goods
2. on a server with no loot (or in this case, very minimal, low-tier stuff
3. just pure unlucky
I've had a guy for about 3-4 days now, gillie suit, CCO, Steak, bandages, food/water, etc.... I've seen loot of almost every kind ranging from FN FAL to Antibiotics to ALICE backpacks (2 in 1 castle at one point), on all patches from 1.7.0, to 1.7.1.1
I have also not seen a drop (noticeable at least) in FPS since either of 1.7.1, or 1.7.1.1...
As for zombies, i can't say much as I don't travel in the cities much right now... too dangerous with all the people |

Basically journey north and seek your fortune. Get used to using shift to keep your noise down. Travelling at night is much easier than day. I am glad game works for some people as it should but I am pretty certain it's not just pure unluck or my PC side of problems, if you check official Day Z forums there are A LOT of people whining about same or similar things I said.
Also, 1.7.1/1.7.1.1 patch notes have this:
* INFECTED AND LOOT RESPAWN IS STILL QUITE BUGGED. NEEDS ALOT OF WORK. BUT IT SHOULD BE MANAGEABLE NOW.
So there are, at least, SOME bugs with loot/Zeds.
Anyway, I probably just played on 3 bad servers, because today I was on server where people had guns etc so they do spawn. Still, I saw many people on chat whining about lack of food/water spawns.
I hope everything gets fixed in time. :-) |

Not sure it will sorry, its very demanding. Try downloading the demo (its actually the whole game just not as good graphics) and see if you can run that. |

Looks like we should be back to functional food spawns tonight. I really like how you can run away from zombies now.

There are two big issues for me when playing DayZ currently:
- Loot is screwed. No food or water except mountain dew and generally very few items except tools like hunting knifes, watches, hatches, etc.
- Zombies still respawn too quickly. We were fighting zombies from inside the power plant fire station because one of us fired with his DMR from the top of the tower. The zombies just kept respawning over and over until we nearly ran out of ammo.

I think everything is now much more better.
-You can easily hide from zombies by using line of sight (run to the woods) also they don't come to water
-Yes, it's gonna take a while to get a weapon but once u get it, you don't shoot anyone who passes by (death is so painful now)
+Tip: When zombies aggro, run backwards all the time, wait until they do their attack animation (at that time they are standing still) --> stop, shoot
