i dont expect Diamond skin to help you out a lot in the end of Act3 and act4 inferno. 20k is nothing and i hope they gona reveal the damage caculation pre post armor resist soon. Right now im considering to get a shield offhand simply bc shields give much better stats than source overall speaking, A little more DPS is nothing compare to the ability to survive.

DS should scale with your hp, that'd massively improve it for the most part.

HP is at 23k. Pretty low because I'm still regearing vit since the regen and crit mass builds getting nerfed, but regardless, considering their speed, how fast they attack and their range, the damage is a bit much. Something has to hit for something like twice your hp to ignore FA, so 46k + 21k Crystal Shell Diamond Skin, 52% damage reduction from armor and 38% resist.

It's Act Three of the highest difficulty. You have... very low HP (I ran 36k to the end of Hell).

I was playing regenwizard during early inferno. Had about 32k by the end of Hell, then had 4721 for act 1 and 2 inferno. Like I said, still getting my hp back up since the nerf.

Yeah, I know, but the zones don't care about that.

Probably going to have to keep to easier areas until you're appropriately set up.

I just finished Hell with this build... I really like it, and should prepare me for Inferno, I hope. I stayed away from Diamond Skin and Force Armor, as I know they don't help anymore in Inferno as you guys said here. My build is basically focused on Cold Blooded damage and make sure that I use Frozen Mist and Blizzard to keep that going. Venom Hydra for bosses only pretty much.

http://us.battle.net/d3/en/calculator/wizard#clYRSO!YXW!YbbbZb

Since I got Arcane Orb and Blizzard both on 20 AP each, I have enough to cast them together, and Frozen Mist also helps me save AP instead of Blizzard again. And plus I've got naturally 140 AP before any other boosts.

Actually FA helps out a lot as long as you get resist and +armor, even in the later acts.

I don't have trouble with anything else, I play a pretty defensive build, so I rarely get hit by anything. Only thing I've had trouble with up to act 3 is the soul rippers, which is what other people seem to be having problems with too. They're easily the most annoying mob in the game to get as a rare pack.

Don't think we were saying not to take them, just that they feel very defensively inadequate. I think it's pretty important to have at least force armor or diamond skin crystal shell. Later on, like during act four or so, force armor would probably become more important though, as diamond skin breaks if a mob breathes on you.

Reduction equal to your hp (ie: basically doubling your max hp) is anything but inadequate. It's just DS that lags behind.

I'm currently a wizard with 20k damage unbuffed, 32k life and 48% damage reduction. This is barely enough to do act 1 inferno and abuse the ai on act 4 aspects. I've done about 50 aspect runs today and managed to get 1 item worth 300k. I could have easily made that much just buying and selling auction items though currently I'm sitting on only 1 million gold. What do you suggest I do to get gold faster so I can get my guy good enough to do siegebreaker?

Are you able to farm Magda or especially Zuul dungeons(5 stacks neph kill 1 of them)? I heard that's a good place to go to in Act 2. I'm still doing Imprisoned Angel to Butcher runs, working well for me for $, most of the loot is jank or flooded on market from others on Act 1, so Act 2 and above loot is better, but once in awhile i get a nice one(got a bow with -7 lvl req and 150 dex to sell for 500k today) and lots of items selling from anywhere from 30-125k and lots of items I just sell for $. I'm finally not feeling so poor.

I heard aspects were nerfed? Not sure, but I die to them last time I tried so I never got to farm them, I know that the items they drop are all over the market so its probably not worthy of your time unless you got lots of MF

I skipped leah, tried to farm the others but died too fast, possible I could do it now but idk if its even wroth it

I'm at the Zuul quest on act 2(the sewers heading for the oasis), but having a ton of trouble and dying a lot so im farming act 1 for now, I cant realistically farm that dungeon for profit right now, And don't think I can get to Maghda 5 stacks consistently either.

What's a solid build to beat Belial in Inferno? I have shitty gear and am only sitting at 30k hp and 25k dps. Any help will be appreciated. ;D

Feel free to watch use the build I use here, which is based on the dfgj's build.

+ Show Spoiler +

First time I did it I only had about 24k hp though I did have about 34k dps.

so what beside vit, int and the attack % is important for gear?

i used to get life regeneration and have like 1500 now, its really nice, have been farming act1 all day

what about resis or restince or other attributes on items? I want to go to act2 soon.

for the rest its 35k life, 25k buffed dmg and 64% damage reduction beside the life reg.

hope i can survive with that in act2

Movement speed is the most important stat you can get if you kite, which you will in inferno. It should be 12% on your boots, and you should seriously consider buying a unity and/or lacuni prawlers for even more movement speed. It really makes stuff much easier.

Life regeneration is completely useless in my opinion. If you die, you die fast. If you don't die fast, you survive no matter how much life you regenerate. Get a templar to slowly heal you up and you are fine.

Depending on your build you would want some amount of attackspeed, and/or maybe crit damage/chance combinations.

Also, i am pretty sure that your gear is better then what i had when i went to act 2, so go for it. Expect to die to some annoying packs, though. But there is not really a lot you can do about that, fast betrayed will rip you appart no matter what gear you have.

As for defensive stats, allresi is nice, health is nice, armor is nice. Get some of all, though you don't need that much in act two to keep FA working, and you would need insane amounts to reach anything better than that. Your gear should work throughout act 2.

I wouldn't try Magda five stacks for farming even if I had the gear, those lacuni leapers piss me off too much together with the Hungers or whatever those fast mobs are who 3shot you, Zuul is easily farmable though, you can start at the black soulstone, find archives(usually not that far) get 5 stacks(and the oppertunity to skip packs as it is 3 large areas youl have to clear) and kill Zuul.

This is the way I go for stats as well, if you use blizzard/hydra kiting, this is probably the way to gear.

1. Int
2. Vit
3. Movement speed
4. All resistance
5. Armor
6. Attack speed (nice to have for bosses or slow enemies where arcane orb spam is viable)

In that order. Weapon should be slow 2h with huge dps, personally I went from a 1h with 800 dps and an offhand with 100-300 damage to a 2h mace with 1120 dps, 0.9 attacks/sec. While I lowered the damage stat in the inventory menu, I literally doubled the damage my blizzard and hydra ticks do.

thx m8 but what are unity and/or lacuni prawlers? The only thing that has movement speed is a set pants item, otherwise its only boots?

In AH in the bottom search one of those items

Unity is a ring, and lacuni are bracers. They are unique and both come with MS.

Honestly unity is dirt cheap, but most have awful stats other than the ms. Lacuni are pricey

i thought attack speed boosts the overall damage in the inventory screen, but sure casting fast is obiously more dps, if you can apply it

i am having 15 +attack + 60int rings on both fingers, maybe i dont need that (gloves aready have 15)
i am running out of mana too fast and cant utilize it really, i am now looking for a ring with more resis

what resi values do you guys recommend for act2? guess 88 buffed are too low...

I've been following this thread a bit closely and I was curious what you guys thought would be the 'ideal' wizard 1 hander. Essentially I've managed to acquire around 10 million gold on Europe and haven't really been able to decide. I mean, I'd imagine the 1h/OH combo isn't looking for the same things that a 2h crit build is (high damage range, crit % modifiers). Otherwise I might just keep hoarding until more clear choices are made available.

Act 2 ive heard around 200-300 is adequate, 200 pushing it a little
