Didn't MLG decrease their 'free' events by quite a large margin, to move to this PPV way? I admit the money is more, the venue is better. But they dont have live viewers (or didn't last couple of times). This tournament may not exist if it wasn't ppv, but the older mlg tournies could have. This is the way i think alot of people think. They just dont like the changes. But your question doesn't really prove the 'ppv is good modem it gives us these events'. Either or, cheers for their being an event in the first place.
They went from 5 championship events each year down to 4 I believe, but the prize money is way better, and paid flights and all that |

Lol, so true. It's incredibly rare for Protoss to hold off this style unless they actually did some early game damage. This was a nice variation from Symbol tho |

Exactly. People watching restreams are killing esports. And not joking. If you're not supporting via ads or ppv buys, you are dead weight.
I recently had a realization. For the past few months I've been trying to be pro-esports...trying to get my friends into it etc. Also ranting on TL about what the foreign scene needs to do to catch up to Korea, esports economy and infrastructure etc.
Then I realized I hadn't spent a single dollar on any event or anything or supported any player in anyway, no GSL ticket or anything...
So ya, I think a lot of us want e sports to grow but we're just not doing anything about it. |

Until yesterday, MC held the advantage at 4-0 in head to head games Vs Stephano. Just because he lost yesterday doesn't mean anything. Thats the first time Stephano has beat him. Stephano/MC is not predictable imo
Don't try to reason with Stephano fanboys. They'll tell you Stephano is way better than DRG now because Stephano won against MC at this tournament and DRG didn't... and that past GSL doesn't matter because it happened a month ago and has no effect over how one can rank a player currently. I love Stephano and I want to root for him (he's a total badass), but the people sucking his dick nonstop in LR threads is really unbearable.

srsly as a high master toss the only thing im finding that works against massroach style like that is you cannot get collossi its just pure stalker/immortal to 200food. then when your at 190food you get 1-2 collossi purely for the purpose of roasting zerglings. before 200food you beat the zerglings with forcefields
if you go for collossi too fast like MC did just there, you get overrun by roaches. immortals normally out-dps collossi per food and cost against roaches
also it takes it to a whole other annoying level when the zerg adds in drop play like that where you need your army at your nat/third then a drop bams into your main. maybe somehow making extra observers can stop that but i dont knowLast edit: 2012-05-21 02:34:52 |
