UK gets seeded because they give lots of funds to the show. And you guys lose all the time because the guys the UK sends suck even though there are much better singers in the UK.
UK has 5 wins yo. More or equal than any other nation exept Ireland. Also 15 second places which is much higher than for anyone else.
If anyone wants a career beyond comedy being a comedy group they really stay far away from Eurovision. Like Blue did it last year and they're a boy band from over 10 years ago, they just kind of got together for a laugh and to help promote a tour.
I expect it's the same for all the countries, I know it is for Ireland as they seem to be putting in Jedward every year now (a pair of twins that everyone voted through on a British talent show as a joke). But then I think the German one a few years ago became successful apparently, maybe they view it a bit differently. |

Why do people keep expecting things they know nothing about? At least you said "I expect" unlike the others who just thought their assumptions were a fact. Anyway a lot of countries take it seriously. Sweden and Greece especially AFAIK. The swedish eurovision qualifier is their most popular show on the country. Estimated 4 million swedish people tuned in to watch the finals of their last qualifier, which is almost half of the entire population.
