just logging in this morning to notice that my gold balance is 0 and that my stash is empty. As far as I know, it seems pretty stupid to me that hackers start doing that before the RMAH goes online but hey... But the point is, I am completely clueless about how It couldve happened since I never downloaded any mods to the game nor did I browse/register on some creepy D3 site...
Anyways, it seemed strange to me as well that they left all the gear on the char but emptied my bank account and my stash...
Anyways, did fill the account fuck up form on bnet and waiting for all my glittering gems to come back to daddy but still...
How the fuck could I get hacked under a week??? seriously. fol. online content ftw......... Anyways, just means i dont want to put my credit card on RMAH ever.
Anyone else has/had the same issue?

Just a warning to my friends playing Diablo 3. At the moment there is an exploit hackers are using to liquidate peoples' accounts. Basically when you play you get a session ID. When you join a public game, people can see that ID and use that to log into your character without the need of an email or password. Even people with authenticators seemed to have been compromised this way. Until Blizzard fixes their shit, its a good idea to stay away from public games.
I woke up to find an email from blizz saying my account had been locked, so i go to there site (not through the email links) and reset my account and login to Diablo 3 to find this;
So i ring up Blizzard Support and what I get after 2hours is this;
Greetings,
Thank you for calling Blizzard Support. As discussed over the phone, we could not find any evidence that the account was compromised and as such, we will not be able to assist you. We thank you for your understanding with this matter. If you have any other questions or concerns, don't hesitate to contact us again.

and thats it... I've sent another ticket via there online site to try and get some actual answer about why if there is nothing wrong with my account that they can see, they felt the need to lock my account...
And i would like to state, for the record I've never been in a public game and only ever play Diablo 3 with my friends that I know in real life.

Was anything missing from your account? I get spam from fake Blizzard emails saying my account has been locked all the time and it never really has, they are just hoping you go thru their fake link which probably will cause it to get hacked.

That is clearly a phishing email, and it looks like they got you. Did you actually try to log in before "resetting" your information to see if it was really locked?

nothing was missing in my account and no other game in my account has been affected at all. And yeah I thought it could be a phishing email which is why I didn't click the links in the email and went right to the bnet site

None of that shit. I could not have played their game more legitimately. Im pretty pissed, but unlike Brian the barbarian, The OneManGang still had all of his gear on. only his stash and his bank account were emptied.

Was your account ever locked? That has nothing to do with clicking links in an email.

That is weird. So they confirmed that they did lock your account, but wouldn't tell you why they locked it? When you say nothing was missing in your account,do you mean all your items were still there? That's why I said maybe it never was really locked. Sorry the picture you posted is blocked here at work so I apologize if it makes the answer obvious.

ohh i though u meant what was missing in my battle.net account..
in my Diablo 3 character Brian all my gold (15k) was missing, all my crafting matierals, all my items and all my good gems where taken along with all my health potions.
All that was left was some gems in my chest, the CE items that you can't move from one acc to another and then a pair of pants which where rare and unidentified that I never owed prior to my account being hacked.

if someone was to phish and get your bnet account information, wouldn't it be more useful for them to actually steal your account, rather than some items for a video-game they may or may not play?
