So we've got 1 Oceania, 1 SEA, 3 China, 1 NA, 2 Europe, 2 Wildcards. That's 5 Asia-Pac, 2 Europe and 1 NA/SA. At the moment I'd like to see in total 8 Asia/Pac (Oceania/China/SEA), 5 Europe (includes Russia), 3 NA/SA. Anyway, with the 6 invites left, need at least another 1 SEA (Zenith probably, two Msian teams is pointless), 1 NA (I like Quantic better, but I think EG has more potential but may be totally unfulfilled in time for TI2, so right now I would give it to EG cause of Maelk), 3 Europe (Mouz, Darer and VP? Really too hard to decide, should just wait and look at Dreamhack performance), and last one should be fight between China and SEA (LGD/WE/Tongfu vs MUFC/AEON/Mith/Mineski/Duskbin).

CLG without Loda now replacing AL as weakest team?
I mean, they're good and all, but without Loda I think both M5 and EG probably have stronger teams right now. Oh well. |

You do realise that CLG were wrecking face far more when Loda went on holiday and wasn't in the team. I think the bigger lose is Smulgilig not Loda. People have some rose tinted glasses on when it comes to the legends :<. In fact CLG only really started to show top top level stuff when Loda went on holiday I think and Pajkatt took over. i have to think that fnatic is probably the weakest professional team currently. they really haven't adapted very well. not to say that this won't change in the future, but i don't think they will be competitive for an international slot. also my money is still on dskbn over mineskiLast edit: 2012-05-24 11:28:08 |

He meant in the Tournament. Of course, Fnatic could still get in through the qualifiers (I'd say it's highly unlikely they'll receive an invite) and there is a while to go so they may be able to catch up.
For my guesses:
Zenith
mTw
Wolves
EG
M5
Duskbin/Mineski (I don't think either are top 16 teams, perhaps not even top 20-25, but Philippines is such a big market for Dota, plus it makes even teams from East vs West)
Quantic, mouz, NEXT.kz, VP and Darer would be teams I wouldn't really mind exchanging for a few above. From what I've seen of them MUFC are looking strong but I haven't seen a lot of them. In this interview, XBOCT says that he knows almost everyone that is going? If that's true (big assumption), would mean that Valve had based their invites on performances from a while back. |

isn't it that valve sends the invites to a team individually to each player? (Correct me if I'm wrong though)
Could it also be possible that Valve changes their mind and suddenly sends 5 to the team manager/Captain in other cases and just have them make their own team. It could address the "stability" issue...

Because it's called an invitational. You want a different tournament. There's a longstanding tradition of invitational/allstar tournaments in every sport imaginable. Oh, good point. It'd be weird to see what happens then IF valve had already decided on which teams to invite, because a lot changed players recently. CLG did just get invited though, and you'd imagine it'd be with Misery and Lacoste, although Loda and Smugullig left voluntarily rather than being kicked from the team.Last edit: 2012-05-24 18:21:36 |
