In 2011, a friend of mine visited Providence and took my mousepad with me. He could only get a single signature after trying Naniwa, Nestea, and BoxeR (Naniwa was hostile to fans trying to get signatures), he finally found Leenock and got him to sign it.

What makes the mousepad worth so much is the fact that he actually won MLG providence the very next day (ironically beating Naniwa in the finals -- the person who rejected to sign).
Either way, I decided to play on it and realized the signature would fade over time. However the way I have it next to my laptop, my mouse should never actually go over it.
The signature has since faded and I am now trying to figure out:
-How could I have better preserved the signature (assuming I kept using it after he signed it) -Is tracing the signature a good idea in order to revive it? -I have heading to MLG Anaheim in a few days and I would like to know what mousepad I should buy and (assuming I do get a signature) how should I preserve a new signature I get? Should I just not use the Mousepad at all after it is signed?
Thank you TL! |

| cover it with something and dont use it, i would wager that it somehow gets touched even if you dont notice it... i'd put something clear and protective over the mouse pad and get a "functional" mousepad for actual gaming. |

| Yea, using this stuff if you want to preserve it is probably a no go. Your best bet is to just not use it. Wear will eventually find it's way. |

I kid you not, having the signature there makes me more inspired to play. I said this jokingly to my friends but thinking about it now, it actually reminds me to play better. |

Why don't you get two mouse pads? Like one you use and one with the signature. Either way, if the mouse pad breathes the same air you breathe every single day, it will fade. Your room has dust. There are drafts in your room. And the ink reacts chemically with air. Not to mention that your laptop has a ventilation system that blows on your mouse pad (directly or indirectly). If you don't want the signature to fade, seal it. |

In the future just get plastic wrap and don't touch it. It's quite silly that you expected to use something with a signature on it and didn't expect it to fade.
Also, thanks for making Naniwa seem like a complete asshole by mentioning twice that he didn't want to sign anything. You really help show how respectful and thoughtful the fans in our community can be. |

I am very sorry for the fans who feel that they have been betrayed by not getting my sign. it has happened several times that people grab me when i am going to play games just to get my sign even when i say no several times which has led me to believe i have to be at the extreme with fans because i dont have time to get to know every single person.
but i dont have any interest in signing your autographs when i just lost games. .. if that makes you not want to be my fan then im sorry. thats just the way i am.
i really dont understand why you would want my sign and then calling me out in public when u dont get it tho. i hope you come up to me and ask for a sign the next event i am at so i can deny you in person |

A mouse pad improves performance if you are using a laser mouse as well, I thought this was common knowledge. |

I think a lot of people understand that pros don't always have the time at competitions to sign autographs, but if your response is being described as "hostile" it might be worth reconsidering the response you gave. You are known as pretty BM however so I suppose it's to be expected.

It's nice having the signature there, and ESPECIALLY at LAN's and tournaments when people are watching -- the signature expresses dedication to the sport of StarCraft. So I am thinking of any possibility of preserving it. Perhaps just use a steady hand and trace over it perfectly? I know of artists who can do such a thing. It's not a very permanent solution though. |

| If your worried about using it and killing the signatures just have it framed. That way you invest a little more into it and won't be tempted to ruin it. |
