I got a chance to interview Liquid`HerO for a feature on the EG MCSL website since he's been doing so well recently. He speaks to his recent GSL results and foreign tournaments, his nerves, the state of balance, KeSPA's switch, the end of oGs and his practice situation going forward.
Shiro: Now that your journey through GSL is finished for this season, how do you feel about your performance?
HerO: It took a long time to get to Code S, and on one hand, I am satisfied that I got this far on my first try, but I am also disappointed about this season. I think that I need a lot of practice in PvP. T_T I think, however, that I was able to get far because of the fans who have always cheered for me whether or not I was in Code S.
Shiro: The rumours have been flying for months, but we finally know for sure that the KeSPA players have switched to SC2. What do you think their switch means for the current SC2 scene, as a former KeSPA player yourself?
HerO: First of all, I welcome the KeSPA players, but it isn’t a big deal for me. It just means that there are more players for me to compete against. It’s going to be very difficult to play both SC1 and SC2 and I think something like that is actually impossible for me. I hope that SC1 players would compete with the SC2 players and create entertaining elements.
Shiro: We end on some sad news, as your former team oGs has been revealed to have disbanded. Do you have any words for your former teammates and practice partners as they go through this tough time?
HerO: I am very sad about oGs disbanding. All the players and the coaches are nice people and also very skilled. It’s unfortunate, but I hope they find their way to stand back up soon. I will always be in contact and practice with them. I hope they cheer up and do well.
Shiro: Where does this leave you for your practice situation?
HerO: I don’t think this will affect my practice much. There is always Battle.net. Also, I have found a new house with Jinro, TLO, HuK, and Supernova. This will be my new start.

This doesn't mean anything about HuK's contract status. He's spent a lot of time at the oGs house even since switching to EG and is extremely good friends with them - so playing with them is more condusive to his practice than the SlayerS house because he enjoys himself more that way. At least, that's what I've gathered - I'm not speaking for EG or anything so don't take it that way. All I know is that EG tries as hard as they can to make sure their players are happy and comfortable first and foremost, so if HuK is more happy and comfortable with the oGsTL guys than the SlayerS guys, that's probably just fine. |
