This is awesome! People say that BW pros will not be good at sc2. But this is not true!

but well see maybe sc2 will get a bonjwa within the next months and one of them gonna rule the world ^^

I don't understand this. Pretty much every top SC2 pro was a BroodWar pro before...

Putting them in the open bracket would be the worst PR move Sundance could do. Even if Soulkey and someone else made it out of the open bracket, there would probably be a big name beaten by some no name. This would kill the hype around the players and show them to be what they are currently, and that being that they're good players but not close to the best players in the world.

In my opinion, the biggest hype thing they could have done is get the KESPA 8 and face them against Polt, DRG, MMA, Huk, Idra, etc., but we all know that would have ended with the KESPA guys looking amazingly weak. This way, even if the games aren't great, the KESPA players are losing to themselves and the winner will probably look good in the process.

The best way would be to just let them be and introduce them 3 months later. Best PR move.

I don't see any SC2 1st place or anything else, so I guess New Zealand shouldn't go into FIFA world cup qualifiers because they won much with rugby...

True, and even better would have been to somehow stop KESPA from having Proleague before Anaheim and pulling back the curtain so early that most of them aren't very good, but this showmatch tournament is way less risky than throwing them in the open bracket.

Can you imagine what would happen if some mid-masters NA player took out Flash in the second round? Madness.

They are BW legends who are bringing waves of BW fans over to SC2, at least show some respect damn it.

Bad bad bad move. After having seen the Proleague-games, it should be obvious nobody is anywhere near competing with the big guns in sc2 atm. They just should have given em the time to train sc2 and I dont believe any of the Kespa players is satisfied by being thrown into MLG after such a short amount of time.

They're not going from rugby to soccer. They're going from rugby union to rugby league.

EDIT: I actually think this is a really good analogy in hindsight. League is faster, there's more spur of the moment brilliance, a lot more punishing, less reliance on weight (which can be compared to APM I guess), less reliance on defensive lines and making metres etc.

I never been into competitive BW either, but still I'll explain: The teams were they come from, are professional teams with a lot of years of experience in training and producing champions. Compare that with the teams we currently have, except, maybe, IM, where for example, foreign teams, you don't even have a practice schedule, you do whatever you want when you want, there's no theory sessions, there's no coach and no manager, who work as hard as the players to understand the game theory , and then explain it to the players, or manage all of their affairs, without them having to do anything besides listening to their coach, practice partner, and doing their practice.

Their methods of practicing and learning are refined to the very top, almost perfected. Also, these are players that have already proved themselves to be very good at either working really hard (Jaedong?) , having talent (Bisu?) or a mix of both (Flash ?). They're champions in a game with a much fiercer competition than SC2 had for at last the 1st one and half years.

So them getting into the top 10 would not be a troll face, it would be a "You have been lazy. Let us show you how it's done."

No, they are going from International Politics to Space Invaders.

Seriously guys, cut it out.

Well, they certainly will be motivated to train hard. I doubt that these top players, with all their korean pride, could stomach losing to mediocre foreigners in front of a big audience.
