Windowed fullscreen with desired resolution? :(

Whenever I go on windowed fullscreen it goes on the maxed resolution possible, and it really makes my game lag/ and the settings don't fit me either. Whenever I stream via x-split, I have to play on windowed fullscreen.

Is there a way I can make a desired resolution with w/fullscreen?

You can't change the resolution on windowed mode. It automatically goes to the native resolution of your monitor. Whaat you can do though is change the quality of the other settings of your game.

Buy a license for x-split and use game source, that way you can use regular fullscreen or windowed in whatever resolution you want.

cant one simply turn down the resolution of the desktop in windows? that way the game should use that too!?

this would be stupid as most monitors when not in native resolution make things look like shit. I don't think OP would want his game to look distorted.

1. Yep, most LCD monitors do look terrible in non native resolutions; at the very least it's going to look a bit blurry. Welcome to 'new' technology that is worse than the 'old' stuff. LCD's suck in alot of ways.

2. The game won't look distorted from an aspect ratio standpoint unless you choose a resolution that is a different aspect ratio. It'll look slightly blurry, however.

If the OP wants to play at a non 'native resolution' without any image degredation, the OP needs to buy a CRT monitor. Weather the OP will like how his monitor renders a different resolution is irrelevent; the OP is already obviously familiar with how his monitor looks at those other resolutions, since he's been using that other resolution in non-windowed mode to play the game before.
