I don't think I could possibly echo this enough. You have a guy who has trained his ass off, changed his ENTIRE life to go to another fucking continent and train and try to become the best. I really don't care if you like him or not but to not be able to respect that is really sickening. I hate when people mindlessly shit talk the guy (hell desrow and sometimes naniwa belong in this same boat), you have peopel who do everything they can to persue their dreams and all they get is disrespect. He was 14 when he was caught cheating, people need to learn to lay off and give someone a break for being young and making mistakes.

Its so amazing to me how LS goes 0-6 and everyone shit talks him to no end, when ostojiy (who it could be COMPLETELY argued that he didnt come close to deserving an invite either) did the exact same thing an no one really gives a fuck. Its shocking to me.

It might just be me, but I think the players who are douchebags in public get more hate than the ones who aren't douchebags in public.

Basically, just 'cause you've sacrificed a lot to chase your dream doesn't mean that you get a pass for acting like an asshole; wish people would remember that.

(No idea about desrow though. Don't know much about him.)

From what I understand the guy had build orders of his leaked by someone and he seemed like he was under a lot of pressure, as well as sick while going 0-6. I don't really think that deserves any flaming, even if you consider some of the arrogant things people are quoting him as saying in relation to how skilled others are.

I would have liked to have seen a 4th match but I'm sure the guy felt as if this was his big moment to prove himself since he himself was quoted as saying he'd beaten them on ladder before, and everyone had predicted him to go 0-6 from the moment he was announced as the last player. That's gotta be pretty depressing.

I agree. He was in a pretty bad position. He was invited to the tournament by day9 who thought he deserved it or whatever reason and it was day9's tourney so I guess its his call on who to invite either way. That kind of brought about all the hate because people felt it was unfair which could be true im not in day9's mind. The only way he could have stopped critics is if he won so he probably had a good amount of pressure.

People shouldn't flame players for no reason but it happens and as a player you got to be able to roll with it because sadly it will always be there. Not condoning it and not saying some of it wasn't deserved I don't know him and and don't know the situation but just speaking the truth.

Don't get me wrong I completely agree he shouldn't go around acting like an asshole, but the amount of blatant disrespect he gets is rediculous. Compound that with the people who talk about why he shouldn't be there when all of those reasons apply to other players, yet no one seems to mind if they're there

now now, thats just not true. LS has given people plenty of reason to hate him. from his BW past to his foreigner bashing in sc2, to getting kicked out of the gom house and so on.

I really hope he didn't forfeit his last match against Parting. Cause if he did, thats just horrible.

Admittedly from what people say, he has. As someone with only having read history recently about him, there definitely seems to be some arrogance in the guy, but he seemed very humble at the actual tournament when he was interviewed, and even owned up to what had happened in the past on camera. That must have took some balls to introduce yourself like that.

I don't really think the [black] facemask along with the black outfit was really the greatest choice as that kinda made him look even more sick looking. I'm going to continue to watch his games though as so few players attempt to use mech vs Z/P and even fewer are confident enough to try them against Ret/Parting/Squirtle.

My biggest question is if it would have effected the outcome. IIRC they way they described tie breakers is if two players are tied for 2nd then it would be decided by maps taken. If that was equal then it would have went to a tie braker. If thats the case then if LS 2-0'd Parting (may be far fetched but possible) then Ret and Parting would have had to run a tie braker because they would have both had 3 maps.

i agree for the most part. you really need to cast with day9 a lot to make the duo work well, like djWHEAT and Husky. they know how to work with him and feed him questions and stuff.

i have no idea. but my problem with it, if he did actually forfeit as we dont know for sure, is that he was really lucky to have been given an invite. People were already questioning if he should get the spot, which he is getting $500 for no matter how he performs. By forfeiting, its a complete slap in the face to Day9 and the tournament. Its showing that he should not have been invited. And its pretty much guaranteeing that he will never get any invites again. Its the worst way of handling things in his position.

So I really hope he didn't forfeit. I hope he is smarter than that.

disagree, i think he doesnt benefit from having any cocaster =/. it just feels like hes not himself when hes not casting on his own

I'd have more sympathy for LastShadow if he didn't have such a consistent history of bad manners, to the point where he's been banned from these very forums for years and kicked from the GOM house. He's publicly said that he considers the GSL to be the only serious tournament and then skips the Code A qualifiers to accept an invite from his good buddy Day9 to go play in a "non-serious tounament" by his standards, and pick up a free $500.

To be honest though I think people are more annoyed by Day9's shameless nepotism than they are with LS.

Ya I agree. Barring an emergency or a mental breakdown, forfeiting in a tournament whether you change the outcome or not is bad. So many people including himself supposedly put so much time and effort into this game/sport/job that when you get an invite to a tourney with a prize pool and audience like this you owe it to yourself and everyone else to at least try. If you forfeit for no reason you are pretty much saying you don't care and thats a mighty blow for the countless pros who didn't get an invite. And like I said, if its possible the outcome could have been changed depending on their tie braker rules then certain players will definitely be pissed off and rightly should.
