The original episodes of TL Arena were recorded on Livestream and, for a long time, I've had the videos sitting on there. Livestream is being a bitch though an keeps sending me emails about them cleaning up my database. As a rueful result so I've already lost the videos of Episode 3 and the Xmas Special Also the video for Episode 4 seems to be bugged. This all sucks. In better news though my youtube channel now allows me to upload bigger vids so that's what I've done. The saved uploaded Episodes, numbers 2, 5 and 6 (Episode 1 never had a VOD), were in my opinion the best ones though
The TeamLiquid Arena event (or TL-Arena for short) was based on a minigame found in the Gold Saucer, a casino slash entertainment park in the game Final Fantasy 7. Said minigame, called The Arena, would require you to pick one of your characters and fight off 8 monsters. After every victory a slot machine would determine a handicap for the player (e.g. broken weapon, no magic etc). These handicaps would stack, making your character weaker and weaker as he progresses. It required you to defeat all the monsters to win the game.
TeamLiquid Arena invites a prominent player from the StarCraft scene and pitches this player versus several players of a much lower level. After every win, a handicap, picked randomly from a predetermined pool, is assigned to this player and stacks with any previously begotten handicaps making it harder and harder for the show's hero to get his 8 kills.
In the run-up to each event, we held brainstorms and poll so the community could weigh in on what maps would be played and what handicaps would be added to the pool.

Welcome to the TL Arena Season 1 VOD archive! Some years ago, a bunch of us organised a series of events called "TL Arena". We had a great run and I recently managed to upload three episodes (listed below) for anyone who cares to enjoy. I'll will try to add a bit of a Why-to-watch summary to each episode to help you decide and because I think that there's even some interesting stuff gone odwn for the SC2 crowd. Enjoy!
Yes that's the same Cloud that now plays Terran for aTn and yes he played Protoss back in the day. Having won four WCG Italys in a row he used to be among the greats of Europe's BroodWar scene - a force to be reckoned with. In this episode, Cloud plays his games with style and class. The real reason you should watch though is his game vs TL's resident spambot Konadora (back in the day anyway) which is probably my favorite Arena moment ever. Also on an interesting note: we had, currently It's Gosu's, Pokebunny on board as a co-caster.
Legionnaire is a living legend. Having been a progamer in Korea and holding the record of most Reaver kills he was Australia's BroodWar hero. Even though I had little to do with the organisation of this specific show I remember being beyond honoured to have him play in this event. He alone should be reason enough to want to watch this. But wait! There's more! This show also features Husky and Raelcun! They're both pretty big now names but they once commented a TL Arena Episode. ^_^
Oystein is such a hero, being among the last players who still stream BroodWar on occasion. Needless to say we already loved him back then and he features in this Viking special. We feature some maps that were based on Norse Mythology (or drawn their names from it anyway) and in the end we get to hear Oystein's victorious Viking roar!

Thank you Pholon! It's weird, though - I remeber watching Episode 4 without problems, even have a screenshot of the VOD for marking the k-pop discussion :D I wonder if I have saved the VOD somewhere.
