Some questions regarding Online-Poker

Hello together,

first of all i want to give you a quick summary of myself and my experiences with online poker:

- 1-2 years ago i was really into poker. I read a gigantic amount of guides and tried to get as many knowledge as i could get.
- i primarly played on Full-Tilt and occasionally on PokerStars
- i managed to make a little bit of profit, not as much as i hoped, but enough to keep me fascinated and hooked for almost a year
- ultimately i stopped playing due to shortage of time

Now i'm debating wether or not i should start playing again. Right now some questions are what keep me from starting to play:

- which site should i play on? Full-Tilt is not an option anymore ofc and i don't want to play on PokerStars because i didn't sign up for rakeback when i created my account there (was my first poker-account, didn't even know rb existed back then).
Right now i feel like PartyPoker could be an OK choice, what do you think?

- which affiliate pays out the most rakeback right now? Is pokerstrategy still a good choice? I read something about "strategy points", which doesn't seem to be a very favorable thing.

- is it generally worth to start playing again or is online poker dead?

Thank you in advance
Exiax

Afaik you cant get rakeback on stars because they have their own built in rakeback system so you should be fine to just play there, I myself am currently on the cake network.

Play stars

Cash has become way more difficult than it used to be (200nl of today is like HS of 4 years ago), but theres still fish around if you don't mind grinding your ass off. There are very few players left who legit play and try to level the entire field - you're probably better off moving up by then

People who put in the hard work+effort always make it to the top regardless

Tournaments are always a great value ground if you don't mind swinging 1000 buyins here or there

Kuja is right, as is BrTarolg. (Except, dude, 1,000 buyins? Come on. Tournaments are pretty horrible, but they're not that horrible. If a pro plays with 500 BI, 1,000 buyins is not a common swing.)

In the end, Stars simply has the best software right now (Since there's no Full Tilt anymore) and has the most players. So if you're a low-stakes player, who cares if you'll make an extra few cents an hour on another site, and if you're a high-stakes player, you'll want the traffic.
<@Wikt> so you are one of those nega-fans <@Wikt> that hates the company that makes a game and everything they stand for <@Wikt> but still plays the game <@Wikt> (like roughly 30% of blizzard's player base, maybe much more...)

Moving is probably the best option : P If you're looking to actually play poker full out online (I use it to pay for my student loan in Canada!) : D

liquidpoker.net

and lock poker is taking us players, but its risky to have any significant amount of money there as it could disappear any day. plus cash outs for usa are taking about 1 month
