| It goes too well with Vodka to not want to support. This is just added reasoning of loving them. |

Indeed, this is a huge step for RedBull. This was VERY expensive for advertising, and they need to know it was worth it. I'm really thankful that our game is on the radar for big companies like this. It is GREATLY appreciated.
If it was too expensive for advertising, then I guess the person that made the decision to sponsor the event on behalf of Red Bull blew it. It was either worth it for them or it wasn't. Either way, they already got what they paid for - exposure of their product and company image to the Starcraft community during the tournament. This thread - especially given that template letter in the OP, which is as sleazy as it gets - is just running an additional marketing campaign for that company (for free) using TL and its popularity as a platform for it (also for free). Do you honestly think it's appropriate to have this kind of a thread here? Besides, Reddit seems like a much more efficient medium to spread a message like that anyway.
You have a long way to understanding a lot in both business, relationships and long-term views.
That's... random. And probably very true! But it's a silly response seeing as you can't conclude any of those things based on the content of that particular post you replied to.
If you're disagreeing, then simply disagree. |

This is not how business works at all. Not as simple as this at least.

Of course it's not as simple. But it's fundamentally true and that layer of complexity was sufficient to make a point. The intricacies of the investment they made and the short term and long term pay-off wasn't really relevant to it.

That, on the other hand, is a reasonable conclusion to make. There's a good number of reasons for my cynicism as well. But the relevant point is - consider not using TL as a free marketing platform. I'm sure this initiative is beneficial on some level for some things, but that doesn't make it appropriate to blatantly promote a company and brand loyalty here. Last edit: 2012-05-29 11:34:10 |

It's all about the long-term pay-off right now.

And I'm sure that is true for a lot of people. You might want to consider that others may have different goals - or at least different priorities. |

| I thank Red Bull for supporting these events but I would never buy their product, energy drinks are extremely unhealthy and a very poor choice for a drink. |

| In my honest opinion, redbull is by far the best tasting energy drink, that actually does its job and doesnt make you crash completely. |

| I personally didn't like the redbull battlegrounds very much, and I thought their tournament organizers didn't do such a good job. Won't be doing this, but more power to you if you liked it and are going to support it |

Just less sugar. The small, 1 serving can is only 24g of sugar. It's not health food, but compared to the 60g+ in some of those big cans, it's MUCH more managable for the body.Last edit: 2012-05-29 13:38:24 |

Mm.. I'm not fan of Redbull to be honest. But I can equally show support for Esports with buying other products like Pot Hockets, Doritos and all that other unhealthy stuff that make me fat.
Pocari sweat anyone?Last edit: 2012-05-29 13:41:15 |
