STX SouL's hyvaa was sent in the ACE match, defeating Samsung KHAN’s Heo Young Moo ( JangBi) and put their team tied for 2nd place. Hyvaa may have lost in his Starcraft: Brood War match against Song Byung Goo (Stork), but in Starcraft 2: Wings of Liberty, put forth his Zerglings and Roaches and won. Hyvaa got his first win in Proleague Season 2 in the ace match, and started with a good feeling.
Hyvaa says, “I waited patiently for my turn for the Ace Match” and “If I go out in SC2 I can play well against anyone”, showing his confidence.
Q. Thoughts on giving your team the win.
hyvaa – The Ace match was burdensome, but I had confidence. I’m happy I won for my team, and put our team in a winning streak so we’re riding some momentum. I hope the next match comes quickly.
Q. Did you feel any pressure for the Ace match?
hyvaa – If the Ace match wasn’t SC2 I would’ve had a tough chance, but in SC2 I’m confidence. I waited patiently for my turn.
Q. Did you expect JangBi?
hyvaa – I expected Terran or Protoss and prepared accordingly. In Samsung Khan Kim Ki Hyun ( Reality) already played twice in the Ace, I thought he wouldn’t play but just in case I practiced Terran and Protoss 50:50.
Q. Your opponent pressured with Stalkers.
hyvaa – After seeing my opponent’s build, I knew I won. I played against this build several times, if you know how to block this it’s easy. There were zero dangerous spots for me.
Q. Based on what you prepared, it didn’t seem like you showed us much.
hyvaa – Our last match I was supposed to play in the 6th set and couldn’t play. If I played in SC2, I thought I would definitely take the win, so I was disappointed. Since I did not show my game last match, I think it played a good part in today’s match. There will be more chances to show my play, so I think I can take it slowly.
Q. How is Starleague?
hyvaa – For Starleague it depends on the game with Lee Young Han’s (Shine) game. I will cheer on Shine to win (laugh).
Q. This season’s goals?
hyvaa – If I just do SC2 I would be confident, but since we have to switch around if I just show terrible looking games, it will be okay (laugh).
Q. You are ok playing anyone in SC2?
hyvaa – Anyone is fine. Like KT’s Won Seon Jae (Lizzy), I meet him sometimes on the ladder, I can beat him. In the game I have confidence in my play against anyone. Because our team is good at SC2, we are all filled with confidence. Our next match is against KT, if I play against Lizzy an entertaining game might play out.
Q. How is playing against Protoss in SC2?
hyvaa – The fact that Protoss is good is well known. But they're not unbeatable. If you check the map and your build correctly, there is a good chance. There are some hard maps vs Protoss, but if you make a good entry you can win.
Q. Last words.
hyvaa – I want to thank my teammates that helped me practice. We only had a day to prepare; I want to thank our coach and assistant coaches for trusting in me. We have a good pace with 2 wins, I hope everyone including me don't become complacent and work hard. I also want to say something to the fans. Right now our team is only winning in SC2, but that doesn’t mean our balance for practicing for SC2 is much higher. Because we’re practicing both equally, we will show you improved game performances. Expect good SC1 play as well. |

| hmm hyvaa sounding pretty confident with his sc2 skills. flash wont be able to play him in the sc2 games unless its the ace match though, but who knows, KT might revoke lizzy's ace status after that game vs jaedong haha. its most likely that hyvaa will play either wooki, stats, hoejja or crazy-hydra. He is just holding on the positive attitude, but as well know. He is currently 0-2 in the OSL. So he would most likely be eliminated from the tournament. |
