Hello Mewka! How are you doing on this fine day? Thanks, I am fine. I am trying to train and think how to play on these maps in ro8, which are kind of new for me.
You've been a surprise player in the ASL by taking out the likes of Oxyacety, Toka, and Hollow! Your PvP seems to be your strong matchup. Do you think it can take you to the finals? I don't really know. Yes, my pvp is the best mu I guess, but now I'll face the strongest protoss in whole ASL. I'll do my best to take him down.
Who would you like to face in the finals if you made it? I would like to face s2glow, cause I like pvz and he is the last zerg in tournament. Besides he his pretty good ^^
What are your Ro8 predictions? Wands can win this tour I think. I didn't see all ro16 matches yet tho, but when I saw that Rush beat m4nu 2-0 I think he must be really strong player.
If you were to get knocked out, who would you like to be in the finals? Hard to say, but like I said Wands vs Rush would be amazing final series
Being that you will have to play PvP for the majority of the tournament, how are you preparing? I am just laddering on my 2 accounts on iccup and playing some 2on2 matches with Poetic. Centerly for this tour I was playing pvp vs Elegant on tours map, which helps me too.
Huge thanks for the interview and best of luck to you in the tournament! Shoutouts? I want to thank Elegant, Wallace, s2glow, fold for being talkative and manner during all stages of this tournament. Shoutouts goes to all organizators, casters and sponsors of this tour, well done guys. Awesome tour for medium level players with nice prizes. Cheers .
Yo yo Fold! How are you doing after your win over Zeran? Sorry to Zeran if you felt cheated of not getting to play proper games. My plan on both Aztec and Destination was was to do forward gate and transition into a more "standard" game. During both games though, I saw that he wasn't dealing well with just the initial zealot pressure so I thought it would be better if I just went DTs and finish the games quickly.
You beat the #1 place finisher of the ASL Ladder in the group stages, and you are now playing another top protoss in this Ro8. Your PvP wasn't known as your best matchup, but do you feel it improving? In the ladder stage Wands was 3 - 0 against me, killing me with the same harass each game so I feel I got really lucky in the group stages. When we played on ladder Wallace told me he hated PvP and his play reflected that so I'm not too worried about the upcoming game. PvP is still hard for me to understand but I think I'm getting a bit better at not throwing away big leads with lazy micro and I'm almost starting to enjoy PvP. (T_T Sorry harem)
Who are you most afraid to face in the tournament? No one. We're all supposed to be C~ level players and all make lots of mistakes still so as long as I prepare well, I believe I can win any matchup.
What's been the most surprising thing so far in the tournament? Do you think there were any upsets? Alec getting knocked out by protosses in his group when I feel he has the strongest TvP in this whole tournament. In practice he is around 7 - 2 against me with a lot of games where he just a-moves 50 tanks. He really should have got much further. Lumire also shouldn't have lost but he wouldn't have made it past the next round anyway. Oxyacety also should have gotten further, his goon micro seems really good.
If you were to win the $150 first place prize, what would you do with it?! I'd treat S2Glow and the other Singaporean BW players when I go there some time next year. ^^
What will your predictions for the Ro8 be? Mewka 1:2 Wands Letalis 0:2 Rush S2Glow 2:1 Action
I'll be cheering for Mewka though.
What does your practice schedule look like and how are you preparing for your matches? Ideally it'd be wake up at 9am and play until 1am t.t but I don't have the time so just playing about 5 hours a week. I've been really fortunate that people were willing to practice with me. Zucrow, Toka, dRaW, Alec, Nazza, rainei, s2glow, sluggaslamoo and I'm sure I've forgotten some helped me practice for group stage and ro16. They were all patient enough to let me try the same build over and over again against different scenarios which really helped because you aren't startled by anything because you've already seen it in practice.
Thanks for the interview and I wish you well in the remainder of the tournament! Any shout outs?! Shoutouts to harem, kjwcj, nazza, modesty, everyone who helped me practice, #nanashin people (nanashin, museun, theoddone33, kimoleon, purpl3, rainei, lastlie, entocheets, renjazu/lokk, chiwawa, loki, nalho, foxu, tusev, beta_male, kipsate, esseim, kama, quickstriker, ness...too many t.t) and everyone else. Also snipin_panda get better so we can play
You made it out of your group stage in an epic tiebreaker and knocked out m4nu, how do you feel about your run so far? Haha, I was very lucky in my group stage. I actually thought I wouldn't proceed to next round after losing my first game to probe but then for other two games my b.o were counter to my opponents especially bbs vs 12 nexus . Also I got lucky in my first game vs m4nu because if he didn't cancel his gateway I would have lost. But playing these people in the tournament I feel I'm getting better and better so I feel happy and proud of myself
Have you been scouting out LETALis? I haven't played him or seen his games yet. Right now, I have no clue what types of gamer he is and his play style. I'm trying to find some of his games and analyze his game styles.
How do you prepare for your matches? I mostly play with my clanmates(from op [PaiN]). Lately, I also watched a lot of proleague games on the maps I'm playing on this tournaments. I think I am in good shape now
If you make it to the finals, who would you like to face based solely on what would be the most exciting match to play/watch? It does not really matter since they all play protoss. For exciting matches I'd play wands because he is really gosu. Fold would be also fun to play with because I've seen his streams and he seems he's got a good game senses and play style.
Your Ro8 predictions? It's really hard to predict because they are all very good. To pick, I'd say Wands, Fold, Action, and me (hopefully ).
Thanks for the interview and good luck! Any shoutouts? Shoutouts to Bizzy[PaiN], M[PaiN], Michael[PaiN], and Bibiane[PaiN] who gave some great tips and helped me out with the tournament. Also special thank you for the organizers, casters, sponsors of this great tournament ASL!
Heyo Action! How's it going? Hey Shimy I'm doing fine also glad to be here!
You just took out one of iFU's better up and coming players! How do you feel? I know iFU is a really strong team so I knew I wasn't going to win it very easily. But right now I feel happy and relieved that I actually managed to go to Ro8
How did you prepare for your match vs him? I practiced by playing aztec and desti against many interesting toss players. And the coaching/tips from LRM)Game really helped me improve on some of my weaknesses/concept.
Do you think you can make it all the way? Who are you most worried about facing? I hope I can make it all the way lol, I mean it be nice . I already played against many of the qualifiers during the Laddering Stage, and RUSH/WALLACE is definitely going to be my hardest opponents.
S2Glow is known for his interesting play. Are you confident in your ability to contend with the 3rd place finisher of the sGs C Ranks Open? I remember seeing some of S2Glow's games on the tournament, and I agree that his interesting style will not be easy to beat. But, I believe if I practice a lot, I can come out as a victor.
Say you win the whole thing, what would you do with the prize money? Well I'm going to college this year so I'll probably save it to buy books or spend it on gas..
What are your Ro8 predictions? Wands, my fat clanmate Wallace(pvp gosu), rush , and hopefully me
Thanks so much for the interview and good luck in the Ro8! Any shout outs? First I want to shout out to all my OD Clanmates, Lion, Newbcrack, Wallace, Voo, photo, phoenixss, iplaystuff, Starke, Mech, Kitaro, Lee33, simeon, and others I forgot to mention lol , right now were going through a hard time, but I'm sure we'll be back on our feet soon. LRM)Game, for his great tips and coaching, and Volume[3S], for helping me play against really good C+ terran/zerg/protoss players.
