Awww, no Polt is disappointing Either way, I've always been impressed by Dreamhack events, and can't wait to see this one as well. |

Grubby will be in China for Starswar 7 i guess
You are correct and Feast has mentioned on stream (not speaking for him just repeated his response) that he wont be competing in tournaments until he's done with school which should be soon I think. |

| Decent player list. A lot of the top Koreans aren't there because DH doesn't pay for air fare I think. Last edit: 2012-05-31 13:31:19 |

NaNiwa vs SaSe in the finals and I could die a happy man.
Really looking forward to watch and I pray GSL schedule won't interfere with NaNiwas participation. |

Of course you won't get the best players in every tournament, no matter how big the prize pool is - there are just way too many different organisers (I mean, loads of events is great, but it has its downsides). It's like a week after MLG, and there's probably GSTL running at the same time..it's either a huge expense for teams to send over their players to more than one event every so often, and it is also a massive strain for players to compete in all these huge tournaments in a row. I mean, you're either going to attend DreamHack, or you will prepare for GSTL, it's either or.
Wow. this Sundance guy is totally right; screw competitions. We only need be 1 major tournament in US and 1 major tournament in Korea. And New York is probably a great place to hold the US tournament. And the US and Korea tournament holders should join force to promote unity. That way they can control everything and make sure things are going smoothly. They should even charge people to watch to guarantee high quality tournaments. Because Sundance GETS IT. He's the voice of E-Sports, and he listens to the community. I love Sundance.
I'm not defending anyone, but unfortunately, eSports can't always be just what the community wants. At the end of the day, the viability of an eSports still depends on cold, hard cash, so actually going about eSports with business, and at some point, profitability in mind, will secure its stability, and is great for the long term. Obviously, having loads of tournaments offering mountains of cash is great, but one has to be careful that it is not unsustainable. You can't expect a dozen huge events each month, with all the best players participating at each, that was my point. Teams have limited budgets to send their players around the world (which can be extremely costly), players have limited time and stamina, etc.
I dont think its the quantity of tournaments so much as how they coordinate with on another and communicate. Tournaments will differentiate themselves based on production values and players pools. And I really think player pools will be based on how well tournaments treat and communicate with the teams.
I think the problem is having too many juggernauts stomping around the year and investing big only to have scheduling conflicts which unquestionably hurts all parties involves. If fans around the world continue to turn out regardless then more power too them, but something will eventually have to give.

Hero is on TeamLiquid and TeamLiquid originated on team europe. Why not send a big gun to the hometown to school some kids. |

| Polt is already qualified for DH winter, with second place at DH Stockolm, so it's understandable that he wants to focus on MLG and then GSTL. |

Seems smart to me, DH has a weaker lineup than most tournaments so he has a good chance to place well or win again. |
