SoCal MLG Players BootCamp?

We've got quite a few high level players who are SoCal locals who will be playing in MLG Anaheim in 2 weeks, plenty of up-and-coming players, aspiring pro-gamers, the like.

I've already spoken with a couple team managers/coaches (i7, ItsGosu, x6, Quantic) briefly about the idea, and they think its a good idea, but I believe it would be beneficial to have a bootcamp 1 week before MLG Anaheim for these players to hone and sharpen each others' play at the event. Our locals, on a team or not, are each still working hard for their 'break,' and this is the perfect opportunity to take advantage of our local player talent pool for some on-site LAN time.

I would like to offer to these players that SoCal eSports will pay for their LAN time for the day if they would like to take advantage of this opportunity, so it would be free for the players to come participate (as many as we can afford, and at our sole discretion of who we will comp -- we've only got so much BarCraft money =P). I'll try to order a few Pizzas too for lunch.

Date: This upcoming Saturday, June 2

Time: All day - (we'd prefer that if we're gonna comp your day, you bootcamp for at least 6hrs, if not the entire day - the players we're targeting are those who take MLG and competition seriously)

Where: Either: Cyber PC Station in Fullerton, CA --OR-- Howie's Game Shack in Mission Viejo, CA. Whatever gets the most votes/support.

Please spread the word around, and let me know if this is something that you would be interested in. If we don't get much support, it just won't happen, easy as that -- doesn't benefit me at all, I'm just trying to do a little something else to support local players and eSports. But I hope people would want to do this.

I'm making a list here to keep track of players who've said yes.
Deadline to RSVP is tomorrow, Friday June 1 - that's when we'll decide if its actually worth the time/money or not.

hrm... wonder if i can attend i live in brea and will be competing at MLG but i'm only mid/high diamond >.<

This concept is more focused toward the high-master/gm players who will actually be 'competing' in the tournament and have a chance haha.

I'm actually in the same position myself though, I'm mid/high diamond and will be playing (I won't call it competing lol), so maybe you and I can train there

Ya Prima thanks for making that, good idea. My vote goes for Fullerton as well, even though its further for me, just because that place was amazing, and has better internet and computers.

If it makes you feel any better, T.O.P., Im in Mass ♥. I solo practiced for Prov last year. Got stomped. Though I think this is a great idea, and I'd love to see it come into fruition. You could even stream it or make it a mini tourny tbh.

Wouldn't streaming/tourney take away from the ability to practice? I am sure Cable can do it, the SoCal Esports LANs he ran have always been top notch, but how about the players?

Definitely a problem is that the tickets for players sold out before they were even available to the public so its hard to say whether or not its worth it for a good # of socal players i think

Ya this is specifically targeting those players who do in fact have a confirmed player pass for MLG Anaheim and are legitimately looking to compete - there are quite a few around.
