Hi, my name is Kyle and this is the first time I've posted needing help. I am a platinum terran player and normally I can evaluate myself and determine what I did wrong. However, this game, despite making some mistakes, I did not seem to do anything bad enough to bring a loss.
My own self analysis:
I got a gas at 17 for no real reason other than to get a factory. I don't know if this is good/bad. I did it on the fly. The only way I see it as bad is it delayed my CC and there might be a better time to get gas, i.e thorzain with double refinery on 22.
My goal for this game is to push out and deny his third around 10 minutes. I did the build differently this game than normal, but the end result was about the same. I am also working on getting tanks quicker, in the past i got them around 15 minutes, which is quite bad. This game I was trying to transition from hellions to tanks quicker than normal.
I killed an overlord, which supply blocked him. I also denied his third for more than a minute. At around 11 minutes I pushed out with a decent sized force. I then killed his third base. I made the mistake of trying to end the game by attacking his natural instead of pulling back. I also should have expanded behind the push. I expanded a bit late at around 12 minutes.
I pushed out again at around 15 minutes. It got handled pretty easily. This game my micro was pretty bad, I normally do better. I also misclicked and loaded a medivac and instead of unloading I decided to drop at his natural, killing 12 drones.
I then took a forth and denied another base. I then lost part of my army again. At this point in the game, I felt like I was producing super slowly. I normally am maxed at this point.
I then took a fight in the middle of the map which did not go my way at all.
I had trouble dealing with his composition. He made hydralisk - roach - infestor, which surprisingly did very well. The roaches tanked siege tank damage and the hydras did damage while the infestors fungaled. Throughout all of my fights, I got fungaled and banelinged, but nothing different from the norm. I was unable to beat his composition even with a decent sized army, equal if not greater in supply. I got upgrades late and did not have a huge amount of siege tanks. My macro was also not as good as it usually is.
Even still, I do not see how I lost. I stayed a base up and had better economy. I had a decent army. But he crushed mine with this odd composition very handily. Even with better micro and positioning, it seems unlikely that the last fight would have gone my way. What should I have done differently?

Hello Kyle! I'm a Fellow Plat Terran Scrub so take everything I say with a tablespoon of salt.
FYI, my understanding is that if you want to do rax -> gas -> expo, you should throw gas down on 16, not 17. I rally my scv on 15 to the geyser and then change the rally back after I make the refinery.
You didn't get punished for it this time, but you never scouted your opponent. You would be really screwed if some type of all in like a bane bust came your way. What I do is scout on 13 after I have queued up the 14 scv and start a depot at the wall to deny scouting, then let the scv building the rax finish the depot.
From what you said about winging the 17 gas and watching the replay, it seems like you don't really have a build or much of a plan. You might want to find a build that fits your style and practice it a bit. I notice that both your upgrades and your medivacs are pretty late. Also, whenever you are starting upgrades late, its not a bad idea to get double ebays and attempt to catch up (or at least not fall even further behind).
It is a little after 16 mins and you are on +1 while your opponent is +2/+1 and your single ebay has been sitting idle for at least a minute. Upgrades are good unit.
Ok, one reasone this engagement at 16:30 went really bad for you was because your opponent had carapace upgrades and you didn't have vehicle attack upgrades. This means you can no longer one shot lings with tanks and they were able to swoop right in uncontested. Also, +2 attack versus +0 armor is not a good thing for you.
Your expansion times seem really good for our level of play. Nice job.
I think this really came down to upgrades. You outmacro'd him for the most part (good job!), but all the later engagements seemed to go pretty poorly due to the upgrade defecit.
