Hello, TL! Back here again with another interview! This week I've interviewed one of Team Empire's less known members in Beastyqt. He recently moved in to Mr.Bitter's teamhouse "The Razer House" and I asked him about the contrasts between his native land Serbia and the US and also future plans in the US.
Excerpt:
Your team, Empire are constantly looking dominant in team leagues (1st in the last GCPL tournament and 2nd in the EGMCSL IV tournament). What makes Empire so good when competing online, compared to LAN as most members of the team, excluding Kas and viOlet, seem to be struggling on the live-stage?
I think that players from Empire were really unlucky as far the LAN’s go, from home we are all able to play our normal games which is why we almost always win. At almost every LAN we had minimum 2 members in same groups in group stages which always knocked out one of the members on day 1. There are too many things that can happen at LAN, table/PC setup might be just really bad (happened to me on one of the LANs) which won’t let players to show his best games or just maybe it wasn’t your day, you cant always play perfect! Everyone has their bad days.
Gameplay-wise, what styles do you prefer against each race? Are you fond of the wide variety of Terran cheeses or do you prefer macro styles?
In my opinion the best players are the ones who can cheese, play macro games or just be aggressive because they are unpredictable and you have more strategies to use which is what I tend to play like. But no matter which style I choose to go for in my games I always try to be as aggressive as possible and I try out-multitask my opponents.
Returning to your team, Empire is definitely a team of terrans. I always jokingly referred to your team as “the European SlayerS” due to the amount of terrans present. This has, of course led to you being a bit unfairly overshadowed by Kas and Happy as they have had more exposure, even though they might not always do better than you. Are you ever jealous of the other terrans in Empire and does it fuel your will to get better?
I think its unfair, but I’m not jealous of them. Then again its my fault for not posting good results which I’m working on now. My goal is not to be seen as best Terran in Empire, my goal is to become the best player as far as foreigners go and I’m pretty close of reaching that goal. Maybe the community in general doesn’t know me or doesn’t think I am good, but people who follow my runs through tournaments, my fans and people who watch my stream are aware of my skill and I hope I’ll be able to show some good games on the upcoming LANs soon!
With you in America, and Empire acquiring viOlet, will we start seeing the rest of your team outside of Europe soon? And what are your own plans for the year tournament-wise? Will you be attending MLG Anaheim, IPL5 or any other LANs that occur in the US?
I cant speak for other Empire members or my team in general about going to LANs outside of Europe, but I will be attending MLG Anaheim and GIGABYTE ESPORTS LAN Invitational, other LANs I’m not sure yet like I said it depends on how well I do at upcoming tournaments!
