It might run the game at the lowest settings at 20FPS or so, maybe less.
Pretty much unplayable, not to mention that's a cheapass Toshiba that's probably going to fall apart pretty quickly, and the screen quality blows really hard. |

That's about the best quick and dirty I could find on Newegg, I didn't look overly hard though. With gaming laptops you either want to sink a lot into them, or just understand the performance will probably be fairly poor overall. The one I linked would play D3 on low at a reasonable rate though. |

In every way no. D3 will definitely not be playable on this. Sandy Bridge integrated (HD 3000) is the absolute minimum you should go. |

Actually, Intel's HD3000 is better than the HD6310 in the laptop you posted (bestbuy link) |

| So are you guys saying that HD 3000 is enough to play diablo 3 at 1366 x 768 resolution for instance? |

If you're ok with 30 fps, yeah. |

HD 3000 should be able to run D3 on low at roughly 30 fps at 1366x768.

This is a decent idea.. it should only be another month or so before the first wave is released. |

Also could consider Trinity (it's coming out "soon", yes?)
D3 probably not a very GPU-intensive game though, might be better off with intel for the not-shitty cpu part.
nvm my idea is probably shitLast edit: 2012-06-05 15:22:58 |

if this helps,im sitting on a 4 year old laptop with : intel core 2 duo p7350 @ 2.0ghz 4gb ram nvidia 9600m gt win vista
and on 1024*xxx (it did also work on 1366*xx but it looks the same to me so..) with lowest everything it runs "ok". its never unplayable, only (short) frame drops i had were in act 3(twice) and act 4 (once) but i never was close to death because of it. have 20-70 fps. edit4 : playing monk / barb with a friend on hardcore, may be different with 4 player mages/witch doctors.
would recommend a better nb tho :D // edit 3 : definately recommend better notebook(gpu) if you want to play hardcore mode, because there ARE frame drops..just not very often.
edit : i also play on another laptop with 420m which i overclock . thats even more playable and should be really cheap right now! (but i'd also recommend hd4000 i guess or a maybe a hp with a 6770m graphics card which is like ~550 €)
edit 2 : im a noob tho! better ask other people before buying the hp thing :D but i am buying a new laptop as well soon and the 6770m seems to be great value according to notebookcheck.comLast edit: 2012-06-05 17:54:38 |

D3 is far more GPU-intensive than CPU intensive. It's not like SC2 at all, rather more like most other games.
In gaming laptops the GPU is pretty much always going to be the limiting factor, except for SC2. |
