Yeah. As far as I can tell, it seems Blizzard is trying to mold Terran into an aggressive early-game, hit-and-run race. They don't help us with late game, which is what we have wanted for so long. (Improved Raven, BC, viability of mech). But instead they give reaper regen and speed w/o factory and the potential for hellion runbys into potential attacks. Even with these changes, I foresee that Terran will be weak and gimmicky. Who wants to play a race like that, which relies on chance and guerrilla tactics? I didn't sign up for Terran to play like this. I signed up for the precise nature of Terran. Au revioir old Terran. You were the best race. I will miss you when I play Protoss in HotS.
Like thats not what we want to hear. Terran players want to hear that we have a decent late game to fall back on so we can play macro games. |

They don't know what to do with the reaper. While I like the reaper and actually heavily used it before the patch in TvZ. Now I can't see any good use of the reaper. |

Leave a mine or two at the logical paths warp prisms are going to come through. If you get a mine on a warp prism, he may not be able to get even a single round of warp in because it takes time to go phase mode and it takes 8 seconds for units to warp in. |

exactly, every player gets the option of playing each race. those people stupid enough to play terran have to suffer the consequences. i know because i was smart enough to switch from terran to zerg after the blue flame nerf.

If terran utilizes ALL their units just like you claim Zerg will ALWAYS utilize all of their units, then there will be quite a micro battle, sounds like fun to me. It's funny that every terran QQ keeps mentioning vipers/infestors/bls/ultras/queens, practically every strong unit we have and yet the terran doesn't think to use all their tools.

When zerg has enough corrupters PPD are basically worthless, they don't last long enough. You don't need HotS to know this if you play Terran in WoL.

Just rofl. I really don't think you watch or play much SC2. Zerg can get to the late game and get the army comp they want almost every game now, or most games. It's not that hard. Zerg macro is easy and very powerful, Zerg will always out resource/out macro Terran it's in their design. You arguing cost vs cost doesn't make any sense. There is no army combination Terran can get that beats Broodlord/corrupter/queen/infestor. Ravens would be an answer but fungle out ranges HSM which is the main problem. Ghosts aren't effective enough, EMP radius is too small and queen/infestor hit box is big. Broodlord range helps keep ghosts from EMPing effectively as well.
then I guess every pro will just give up in TvZ or all-in then? If blizzard thinks it's a problem they will fix it, I have faith. Can they really get an army composition like that for free? you act as if zergs that get to that comp have no skill and it's easy to do.
By precedence they will just Nerf the all in and leave the terran to innovate again then Nerf that also. |

Haha don't know man. Which is why I will be switching to Protoss. I've been so stubborn to stay with Terran for these last 5 seasons. You know a fun experiment is to see how the % of Terrans in GM and master league decreased each season, especially when you line that number up to the timing of patches.

Guys, tempest may have low dps but it has absurdly long range. It can and will be used for many things. Not bad unit at all.

Leave a mine or two at the logical paths warp prisms are going to come through. If you get a mine on a warp prism, he may not be able to get even a single round of warp in because it takes time to go phase mode and it takes 8 seconds for units to warp in.
I actually see the widow mines being much more useful in TvP than in TvZ, since Protoss' units on the whole tend to be more costly, so there are fewer trades that benefit them. Granted, they will rely on eliminating the mines entirely with detection and sustaining no losses, it will be hard even for Protoss to have detection everywhere. But perhaps I am thinking that this will be harder than it actually is. |

Ghosts aren't effective enough, EMP radius is too small and queen/infestor hit box is big. Broodlord range helps keep ghosts from EMPing effectively as well.
then I guess every pro will just give up in TvZ or all-in then? If blizzard thinks it's a problem they will fix it, I have faith. Can they really get an army composition like that for free? you act as if zergs that get to that comp have no skill and it's easy to do.
By precedence they will just Nerf the right, only trueall in and leave the terran to innovate again then Nerf that also.
And then when Terrans brain storm about potential new in-game options, Blizzard will nerf them and take them off the table. I bet when Terrans try to play football, they nerf that too.

Here is my problem with the new terran in HOTS:
note, i will keep in mind that these units will change but i have issues more "conceptually" with these units than explicit concerns about imbalance.
1. Pride. This is why i main the terran race. Pride. It feels fucking great to split vs a fungal. It feels fucking great to sim in two marauder and a marine to snipe a full energy infestor that got over eager. When will i be proud of using the battle hellion? Ah man! You really amoved that unit correctly! There is no micro potential, it is too slow, and currently has no synergy with terran race (quick pace, bionic, multiple engagements with small but potent units).
2. More smartfire and concerns over the siege tank. Warhound is a bad idea fundamentally - here is why. If you make something that auto targets the units they're best against, they will discourage certain brands of play. at the moment TvT is the best, most dynamic and skilled matchup in this game (in my opinion ofc). There is a REAL defenders advantage given by marine dps and tanks. Even if you have a unit advanage, you must think. Warhounds and battle hellions are going to make careful, methodical engagements nonexistent in TvT and it will simply be a battle of who has more shit. That is BAD design and TvT in its current form is fucking glorious. GLORIOUS. No defenders advantage? == no safety to drop. no safety to drop == no multitasking. Just one more matchup turning into who can make workers better and amove.
3. Viability of siege tank. Now that all races have siege tanks (and if you're P/Z, they're flying) what is my incentive to make these anymore? 13 range + friendly fire is VERY BAD compared to the other siege units, but ironically terran cannot survive vs baneling/ling compositions or something similar without them. You can split all you want, but they're necessary. Does anyone feel that siege tanks could use some love? i think coach park said it best, "any last words coach park?" " BUFF SIEGE TANKS "

No: pdd blocks corruptors, you fly your vikings forward to shoot at the BLs, they get fungalled, PDD is dead, corruptors finnish it. You really don't play this game at all, I am 100% sure about this.
yea I don't play HotS, I wish I could, but unfortunately it's not out yet :S
When zerg has enough corrupters PPD are basically worthless, they don't last long enough. You don't need HotS to know this if you play Terran in WoL.
so all zergs will have corrupters, infestors, vipers, bls.. sounds like a lot of gas. Yea I know PDD isn't great in WoL but in HotS? It could be strong if the zerg spends too much on vipers instead or has too much supply tied up in other units. Thing is, I can't get specific on unit numbers and compositions because... it's not possible. All I can do is generalize and give ideas to terrans who think their race is UP. Until we get the beta and can test this shit, all we're doing is circle jerking. yea let me go to the HotS beta unit tester and put in 20 corrupters, 10 BLs, 5 vipers and 5 infestors vs an equal costing terran army and I will get back to you... Or were the numbers you were thinking of different than mine? I don't fucking know, specific numbers isn't important at all right now, just ideas which I'm trying to give.
Just rofl. I really don't think you watch or play much SC2. Zerg can get to the late game and get the army comp they want almost every game now, or most games. It's not that hard. Zerg macro is easy and very powerful, Zerg will always out resource/out macro Terran it's in their design. You arguing cost vs cost doesn't make any sense. There is no army combination Terran can get that beats Broodlord/corrupter/queen/infestor. Ravens would be an answer but fungle out ranges HSM which is the main problem. The question is: How many true hardcore masochists will there be in HotS? I wonder if the current "problems" Protosses and Zergs are experiencing whereupon they cannot find a Terran on ladder will be amplified x-fold in HotS
