Why do you keep implementing Anti-Micro skills like abduct, force field, fungal etc.? Do you think it is fun for spectators to see one player not being able to gain an advantage through better micro?

in hots detection becomes more and more immportant

do you think there should be made change for terran since their detector is the most expensive of all races 100/200
so that they less rely on scan or decrease the scan cost a litttle


is it possible to give the reaper more a role then a heary harras units
maybe a raider unit for mid or late game ?
because early the role of early harras unit /map control can do the normal hellion too

Is the Widow Mine countdown animation when attached to a unit final?

Elaboration
Takes up too much space and looks too cartoony.

Suggestion
Make a more subtle visual cue. I am thinking about a small yellow/orange ball of light floating above a unit, which turns red in the final ~2 seconds before explosion. The size would be very small, e.g. the size of a Marine's head.

Oracle
Question
How do you feel about harassment which takes far less APM/time to execute than to defend against?

Elaboration
The Oracle's Entomb spell disables an entire mineral line in what seems to be 1 action (casting the spell once). I feel the amount of actions required on Protoss side to lock down the entire mineral line compared to the amount of actions required to undo this for the opposing player is not fair.

Suggestion
Change Entomb to only disable 1 mineral patch per cast. The Protoss now needs to manually 'entomb' ALL mineral patches, i.e. cast Entomb 8 times instead of only 1. Of course, energy cost and cooldown have to be adjusted accordingly. The cooldown should probably be set to 0 to allow the fast Protosses to still Entomb an entire mineral line almost instantly if they have the APM and precision.

This is a question that really needs to be asked, and is the main problem with starcraft 2 in my opinion. None of this should be in the game whatsoever.

Great question, I too wonder how they deal with that at Blizzard.
Because you of course must not lose your temper as an employee and keep thinking positive - which I must imagine his hard with the gaming community. I mean EVERYTHING will be complained over, even if it's just the vocal minority.

I'm a mech player and as we can see HotS also aims for meching terrans, so my question is: which unit from terran is supposed to counter the ultralisk? Hellion doesnt, tank doesnt, thor - doesnt, warhound doesn't? Also ultralisks burrowing in my siege tank lines and vipers picking them apart - destroying the " ball " and lings will surround even more efficiently, how am I supposed to deal with that

Blizzard have often said that they want to angle StarCraft II as an eSports title, yet often many tasks when compared with something like Broodwar are much simpler (automining, now number of workers on a CC/nexus numbered etc) and arguably more 'casual friendly'. There have been complaints about the lack of opportunities for a skilled player to differentiate themselves from a lesser opponent, leading to comments such as "luck based" or "hard to come back".

Do you feel that having SC2 accessible to casuals and having an eSports focus mutually exclusive? Are there any plans to try and create scenarios which allow better players to demonstrate their mechanical skills and come back or gain a more significant advantage?

Since engagements and positions being one of the most important factors in the game, what is the reasoning behind the abduct ability not breaking the game in this way?

i'd hope for a response other than his typical "umm well players had issues getting to tanks/colleseus and they needed a counter" as we're talking about things that actually breaks a fundamental principle of the game.

Would you agree that tanks are the backbone of the terran army since BW, and that they make TvT and TvZ very positional and interesting, giving something for terran to defensively hold certain positions with superior supply if used correctly , resulting in longer games and interesting army movement and that for HotS more positional/defensive units were demanded for all races (see Lurker) by many people?

And if so, why do you try your hardest to make tanks shit?

Like...why did you relegate the tank from the backbone of the terran army to an expensive, supply heavy support unit? Do you see the tank as the "main" unit in mech builds for HOTS?

Are you recognising that Tank loose/lost their backbone position and are you going to change the tank itself instead of nerfing the rest?

A few question mainly about terran in general:

1) Terran is well know for having flexible openings due to tech lab and reactor swaps. As the game goes on however, they seem to have much more difficult time making tech switches. Have you considered ways to allow for smoother transitions? If not, why?

2) Terran seems to lack an always useful spellcaster compared to other races. Protoss has the sentry and High templar and zerg has the queen and the infestor. How do you feel about terrans spellcaster being more of a counter to certain compositions or units instead of just standard part of any composition?

3) Zerg and Protoss both seem to have a much easier time reinforcing pushes compared to terran on large maps like atlantis spaceship. Do you feel this is due to the larva mechanic plus creep and the WG? Also, do you plan to give terran some unique mechanic and/or ability to allow them to sustain pushes across larger maps?
