Basically, I've got my upgraded computer and been having some issues...

I've been watching MLG Spring Championship and experiencing blue screens and crashes as well as sc2 crashing while I play.

These are my details:

Windows 7 64-bit
Phenom II x6 Overclocked to 3.2 ghz (Temp measured at 22c on the cores with stream running using speccy)
Radeon 7850 (Asus DirectCUII version) at stock speed and voltage (30-40'c at idle, and I don't think it goes anywhere near close to risky temps even at load (and I wasn't necessarily at load when experiencing all my blue screens)
Gigabyte 970A-DS3
RAM is 6g ddr3
Silverstone 500w PSU

EDIT: Mobo 34'c temp
EDIT2: and I think the northbridge is running a lil under 2500k

i would think it is the psu.. is that a new PSU too? 500w seems abit low for the 7850..

from AMD website.. :500W (or greater) power supply with one 75W 6-pin PCI Express power connector recommended

Not very safe running just the gfx at the recommended psu levels...
edit: especially the case if you overclocked your processor (which i read , you did)

The numbers on the AMD websites have to take into account for all the shitty PSU's out there when they post their requirements. Unless there's actual hardware faults the PSU should be sufficient if it's of good quality.

Did you crash before overclocking or did you see any instability during stress tests after overclocking?

Also, what error is showing up on the blue screen page?

No error... just "check faults with your hardware" or something and then a restart.

Apparently no instability during stress tests.
No crashes before OC, but it also shared basically nothing but the processor.

Thanks for posting. I've got it all un-overclocked right now but I am lagging on sc2 because of it and I don't know if it'll be stable anyway so replies are still greatly appreciated.

Man you have soo many threads over this pc.
Anyways, You said you gained a new problem after your overclock, as far as i understand.

I really never saw the need for the overclock, and even in your closed help topics you never answered if you had this problem BEFORE overclocking.
So, i guess before going any farther, lets rule out the overclock before addressing your other options.

Weird you shouldn´t be lagging in sc2 just because you unoverclocked, i got the same proccesor without OC and runs sc2 pretty well, must be something else.

^ On ultra lol ^_^ because it ran ultra so smoothly with the OC im used to it now <3

@Snackysnacks:

I didn't use the PC before overclocking...it's basically an entirely new PC but reusing the processor (which didn't crash without overclock), but it didnt have a 7850, aftermarket cooler, etc to run off its PSU either (which is now replaced by the 500w silverstone.)

EDIT: No crashes yet running with zero overclock and zero overvolt on CPU and northbridge by the way... so it could be a CPU stability or power issue if it doesnt crash anytime soon.

EDIT: Oh and btw, my Phenom is the 1035t, 2.6 stock just incase it matters
