I played a protoss who proxied AND cannon rushed me. I had no idea he was going to do both. I caught his proxy really early, and i thought, ok easy win, but then he planted a pylon in my main. I thought nothing of it, but I guess that should have been a huge clue into what he was going to do.

I honestly was very flustered, I was just pulling probes, not sure if anything would work. When I saw him cannoning the low ground, I froze.

| There is no such thing as high plat, only diamond and masters have different levels, as far as I remember (diamond having 5 and masters having 3). Anywho, when you see his proxy and you have only one gate, the next thing to do would be to throw down a forge. From then on, it's a matter of micro but pulling probes and chronoing zealots should be fine against the proxy, and as for the cannons, you should be able to get them first. |

How though? I already scouted his gates. By the time i saw his forge it was a little too late to start building mine. Can you clarify how to scout in a little more detail?
Is throwing a forge standard against proxy? |

There is a large difference between high plat players and low plat players. High plat players can regularly take games off of diamonds. Anyways, after you scout his proxy you should think of all the things that could kill you such as a cannon rush, dark shrine or blink stalk all in, prevent those from happening, and because you have the economic lead you win. Simple as that. |

Most of the time you do want a forge vs a 10/10 gate get a cannon in your mineral line and pump out a few zealots while either trying to get stalkers out or cannon rush his main. Vs a proxy 1 gate with a forge it's a little trickier most of the time I try to rush stalkers out and can micro him with probes and such to stop his cannons from creeping in. But the safest response would be to get yourself a forge right away build a cannon that protects your gateway from his cannons and
Don't let him sneak anything back by your mineral line. In any case always remember to pull back weakened zealots in those little micro battles most plats don't and that alone can net you a few easy wins |

i can understand occasionally, but ive never heard of 'regularly' and i doubt theres a 'large difference'

I have never heard that 'diamond has 7 levels'.
I am a high platinum, i.e. I win usually against low platinum and loose usually against diamonds and am 50/50 against other high platinum. What is wrong with that?  |
