it just says 15% transfer fee ... most likely blizzard getting at least 12% out of that 15% ontop of the $1 dollard listing fee. This is for items only. for coomodities like gold its 15% + another 15%. Dont know who came up with the 15% to paypal because clearly blizzard is profiting.
blizzard isnt stupid so i would say they will not let you buy new releases using that virtual money.
It's not virtual money. If I spend $39.99 on HotS with "blizzard money" that's $39.99 that someone else put into the system using real money. Either way Blizzard gets $39.99 for the game. They could still restrict it, but the only reason would be "because they're dicks." If anything they make more by letting you buy a game via their money. Otherwise the money is leaving their system when someone eventually uses it to buy an item on RMAH that goes to Paypal and may never return.
its not virtual money before you injected into the blizzard system. true. it was real money someone else deposited into his blizzard account. also true. But after it is deposited and turned into blizzard buck. It is no longer "real" money because it is like a gift card you are limited to what you can do with it. Real money you have no restrictions. And im sure blizzard isnt stupid and would want to keep that virtual money circulating instead of destroying this real money by allowing you to purchase new releases... If you think blizzard isnt greedy well good luck with that. All the things they implemented into D3 has been for greed and collecting money. The more they keep this virtual money the more they can tax it with fees that $100 that someone injected into this never ending loop by the end of 4-5 rounds of buying/selling 80-90% of that money will be in blizzard's hands. As I said they are not stupid and will find any way possible to profit from us players. Not letting you buy new releases with their virtual money is very profitable.
You're just looking for reasons to bitch. Blizzard has done tons of things to make them less profit in D3 (like removing skill runes as an item). They want as much money as they can get, but part of that is not pissing off your users.
Its not like they havent already pissed off a lot of players. Removing runes system was because their shity linear skill with linear stat use didnt allow a space for runes/rune words. It wasnt about profit. Are you dumb? The online only, the game revolving around the AH and now the RMAH? the incredibly random rng with items? These are the most obvious decisions they made in order to profit from us. They wont be getting any more money from alot of users because of their greed. That is already a fact by shoving this crappy game down our throat and limiting us on how we want to play it.
blizzard is smart. they make less money off the people you describe, but maximize their profits off the people who you apparently dont agree with. blizzard +1
Im just frustrated when people dont see blizzard's motives behind their decisions and still blindly support them thinking what they are doing is for the profit of us the players. I guess there are plenty of stupid people in the world so no reason I have to argue with those people who cant seem to understand economics and the logic behind blizzard's decisions.
blah blah blah... no shit Blizzard is a subsidiary of a public corp, of course their first intention is for money. But a lot of us support them because the enjoyment we get is worth more than the $60 we put into the game. Benefits both sides, don't you think? Sure the game could've been better but if I derived more than $60 of value from the $60 I invested, that seems like a fine trade.
Everyone's value are different if you are happy with 40hrs of playtime for $60 then Im fine with that. But to others $60 is worth alot more and are expecting a lot more. I think there are lot more people who thinkgs for $60 D3 should have been much better. That is apart from all the constraints they put on us players.
For some of us, $60 is worth 1-4 hours of time, or even less. Since when is it cool to give corporations shit for trying to make money? They aren't making games as a public service.
some of their marketing implies they are ;p |

How long does it take for sales to appear on your paypal? I sold stuff like 12 hours ago and it still says "processing" in D3. |

You should have received an email. It says up to 72 hours to go to paypal (I'm not sure what they verify exactly, whether the items are legit? Whether the buyer really has enough cash? I dunno.)
OT: I've made $10 so far into paypal. I like the RMAH more than I thought it I would, honestly. It adds an extra layer of excitement to the game. You never know when that $100 piece of loot (for now) is going to drop. I just got a lvl 60 set item, and threw it right up on the RMAH. It makes loot a little more exciting when there could be real money at stake. |

Set back system-time "hacks"? Are you freaking serious?
Because they make good games ? .. I dont understand some people.. what is wrong that you can earn some cash playing diablo 3 ? , its a bad idea ? LOL its very good for me. If someone wanna be "diablo 3 pro" and wanna pay to have better items why not ? |

I made 250 from a ring with.
70dex 70Vit 70 All resists Crit hit damage(25 percent or so) Crit hit chance (5 percent)
It was a very good ring. The onyl reason why I wasnt using it was because it had no MF and I want more passive MF. It was also a DPS downgrade, though barely. I will miss those resists though.
EDIT: Actually after doing the math. I have gotten every dollar I have spent on every blizzard game back. That includes 7 years of WoW, and all the expansions, SC2, D3, and Diablo 2.

| Is there any way to tell what items are actually selling for on the RMAH? A lot of people go sky high (especially for set items) and I want to know what my Tal Rasha headgear is actually worth. They're all priced 100-250, do people really pay that much? |

| I'm struggling if I should put up my whole gear on the RMAH and then focus on hardcore. I invested around 150m in the wizard and I think I can get >1k€ for everything. |

Nothing in the game requires gear of that caliber, so if you like playing the character/farming, you can still do that AND sell your stuff to pocket 1k+.
On the other hand, it's fun to have a godly character - but how long will that matter to you? |

That's what I did. I put up my gear, ended up making around $215. I was going to use that money to buy better gear once prices dropped, but ended up transferring the money to my paypal and switching to HC. |

Did the same, sold half of my gear (the valuable pieces) and rolled HC char With the ongoing inflation its impossible to make a dime in 2-3 weeks on SC anyway. |
