Be warned, this game is hard to learn and like ICCUP, even if you're an RTS pro, you will probably just die for your first 20 games.

I loved this game played it a lot on lan in 2008-2009 with my brother. Its the perfect game for competitive play, you can design so many different and various strategies it's absolutely crazy. I only played it for fun though, with massive tech units, ships, aircraft, land troops and 3 or 4 factions if I remember correctly...wow I just want to install it back right now! I have no idea if there is still a community or servers still active though...maybe direct IP.
-smells likes tasty soup, what's the menu?-fresh jaedong style marine stew served with a glass of dragoon slush!-The food's any good?Quite unusual names, never heard-all my food's good, the kitchen's this way-btw whatu terarn doing alone in a zerg colony?
Is the unit movement any better than SupCom2? I tried playing that, but when I found out that everything was unmicroeable/ had giant turn radiuses and just all around had sluggish handling, I couldn't for very long.

stuff is very microable, even if some units have a somewhat large turn radius, if you have decent micro you can easily evade 30-50% of the projectiles in small battles, use your fast units to bump into their slow units and hinder them from retreating, block incoming shots with your high hp units to protect your high dps units etc.
overall the stuff you can do in this game is insane, macro is unforgiving (you have limited storage so when you dont spend your income you actually cant spend it later - it is lost ; especially brutal with energy where usually your storage is just 5-10 seconds worth of production)
There will be a casted tournament pretty soon when the community client gets officially released after its beta stage.
Hey TBO, any pro insight on best times to upgrade your mass extractors to tier 2/3, or preventing your economy from stalling? Since macro is so important, any economy tips in general?

its been such a long time since I played so things might have changed
generally, tier 3 mass extractors are nothing you will usually get in 1vs1 (on most maps). T2 shouldnt be done too early either as its a hefty investment which can cause you lose of map control and thus a lot of T1 Extractors. for the cost of a T2 extractor you can easily get a transport loaded with a few units and engineers to destroy/capture/rebuild extractors. On the bigger maps it is different of cause but even then getting a transport to grab far away mass spots might be a better investement. Upgrade to T2 is generally a pretty safe thing to do once you have established a small lead as it means that lose of map control wont be as important.
if your economy is stalling, pause low priority projects, nothing is worse than all projects running slower than they should - try to assign some of your excess engineers to reclaim wreckages/rocks/trees. Reclaiming in general is super important, if you do it well you can have like twice the economy after 7 minutes compared to someone who didnt do it at all. If you have energy problems disable shields / mass fabricators etc. If you pause for example an air factory make sure to reassign the engineers to a land factory nearby (or assign other jobs).
generally I would advise to play simple small maps first - like theta passage and try to never waste any energy/mass and to not get in the red either. Learn the spots of the reclaimable spots and try to reclaim them efficiently and try to deny your opponent doing the same if he gets too greedy (i.e. sends no units with his engineer) - 1 Light attack bot can be enough. always get a scout or 2 to see what your opponent is up to.

I'm not a pro player by any means, but my biggest improvements came from making sure that I always have enough engineers and reclaiming alot. If you just had a big t1 battle and you've managed to secure the field, send like 4-5 engies to reclaim it all.
I seriously did that in the aeon ascendant tournament as mentioned on gamereplays? I wonder if my tournament game vs Pink is still around somewhere... that was some funny stuff too.
