He has always been good at time trials.. It's always been the mountains where he struggled
What is abit worrying is that he climbed top 3 on the 2nd mountain stage and still shattered everyones time on the timetrial
Basicly, when he was at his peak with TT, winning the olympics in TT and riding track, he weighed 20 pounds more than he does today; Yet he still punched out 510 watt average for 51minutes today, which is higher than his time as a pure time trialist and race track rider
What im saying is; It's insane to lose 20 pounds of muscle to be able to compete on climbs, and still increase in power output..

| Wow, monster TT by Wiggins. Well, by team Sky really. But on these time-trials is where we really miss the likes of Contador and Schleck, who are great at the mountains and can really hold their own against the time. I hate to feel like Evans dug himself into a hole a little bit today but it does look that way. Still a lot of time to go though, and anything can happen. |
