Hey,
I'm often getting "Desync" randomly after a minute or after 20 minutes. I also posted it on offical Blizzard forum but no answer so far.

İm not a tech wiz but your computer is VERY outdated. Check the lowest specs on the sc case and those are the minimum! İf you wanna play the game without any desync problems id suggest buying a pc with the recommended specs. (atleast windows7 and 4gb ram)

Try downloading any updates to Microsoft's .NET framework. Just google it.

Check that drivers are up to date for your network adapter, etc.

If neither of these work, go into your Support folder in Program Files\ Starcraft II\ and run Repair.exe. Good Luck. May or may not be helpful.

I'm going to any time soon, but isn't desync error more of a connection thing?
While playing on lowest settings + after editing variables.txt my game runs smoothly ( on 35-40 fps ) without any PC related lags or internet lags.
That's why I am a bit worried about desync, I'm not sure if new pc will fix the problem... : (

I had that issue in a really bad way a few months ago, and blizzard has not been massively helpful with the issue. I updated the firmware on my router and it helped a lot but I still occasionally get the issue. I think it's a problem with a very small loss of connection with the battle.net servers, even though when it happened to me, I would not actually get a notification that i lost the connection, i would just get booted out of the game and be able to requeue right away. It seemed to happen more often in team games than in 1v1 as well. So if your internet is unstable or you have a crappy router or out of date firmware then that could very well be the reason its happening. I still get the problem once in a while but its much better since I've updated the firmware.

edit: oh and its not a pc issue, it happened to me on my old pc and then again on the new one i got like 6months ago, so i'm like 99% its modem/router issue.

Damn, that is some old modem. You should definitely check with your ISP on what they would recommend. Depending on the age of your computer you may want a new network adapter to go with your possible new modem. Something like a PCI Adapter. They're easy to install by yourself and cost around $30 Canadian (~$29 US).
