Hello everyone, I'm making this thread to replace this, which is extremely out of date, having been edited last in 2010. Note however that the TL thread is NOT the primary means of discussion for tamusc, as we have our own forums (<---click) for that, which are quite active considering the small size of our group. This thread will serve as a place for recruitment and the gateway to our forums. When registering, please use your tamu email so we know you are a student, as registration requires approval by admins. If you are not a tamu student but would like to register, just post here and I'll approve.
When posting in this thread, include your
- Bnet ID with character code
- Race
- Current League
Why? Cause the old thread asked for it and I'm too lazy to change things.
(and I guess people can add each other easier)
Short History
Like most collegiate SC groups, we started when the Collegiate Starleague (CSL) was founded. At that time, only 5 people played (none of which remain today T_T), and the team made it to the playoffs of the last bw csl season. The release of sc2 saw a massive influx of people to the starcraft community, which led to the creation of the current TAMUSC. Membership has been consistent, usually about 20 active members with some coming and going, and unfortunately many joining our forums, making 1 post, then disappearing forever. For the past 2 years we have refrained from becoming a more 'official' organization, however we are starting to have more people grad than we have people coming in, so we are working on expanding and becoming a TAMU organization, with the hopes that an SC group will remain for years to come.
What do we do??
- PLAY GAMES
This one is obvious, we are first and foremost an SC2 group, however lots of people also play other games, such as Diablo, Dota, LoL, and a bunch of other stuff.
We have epic weekend-long lans every few months, although the epic Gilantic series is on hold due to not having a house to do it at anymore.
We are always hanging out in vent, so join us there if you'd like (vent info on foums), and chat chanel 'tamu' on sc2.
- CSL
We have participated in the sc2 CSL for the past 2 seasons, making it to the RO16 of the playoffs in both. Hopefully we can improve and make it farther for 2012-2013~~
Update: We made it to the ro32 of the Azubu collegiate champions~
While there is obviously no league restriction for joining tamusc, playing in csl matches will require you to be mid-masters or higher (that restriction exists because we have enough high master players to field a full lineup every week). In addition to that players must be active on ladder ,exceptions will be made if you are super-gosu ^^. This restriction doesn't apply to 2v2.
- Go to Events!!
Previous MLG's have been held in Dallas, and we all went and had a supersexyfuntime. Maybe we will get lucky and have another MLG in Texas soon  .
The folks at TeSPA (Texas ESPORTS Association) have hosted a few tourneys, including the Lone Star Clash, as well as CSL regional playoff qualifiers, among others. They are relatively close so we go when we can.
BARCRAFT
The first barcraft in CS was hosted just last week by monstermatt for the MLG Anaheim championships, and there will be more in the future.

only 3 lolz, I think our teams success would grow if we had more...just look at all the top csl teams!
