Artosis and Tasteless have gotten worse and worse about this; every time they say anything facetiously one (or both) of them will put on an incredibly obnoxious 'nerd' voice ("ish he the new nerd bonge wah?").
Aside from just sounding annoying, it's almost painfully obvious that they're doing it because they can't deal with any legitimate criticism of their casting and need a crutch to be able to say to themselves something of the effect, "Oh those people just don't know what they're talking about. We're perfect."
Really, really hurts their perceived professionalism when they come off as whining children every 10 minutes in a cast. You're not martyrs; you're commentators.
If you don't know what I'm talking about, rewatch Symbol's group. They spend almost an entire game doing it and I just wanted to shut the cast off because it was so irritating.

| Tasteless and Artosis (and, in fact, most casters) say tons of random and weird crap during casts, presumably just to fill up air time when there's nothing of import happening. I think I'd get an aneurysm if I tried to take all of that seriously. Day9 actually gave me a headache when I tried to seriously pay attention to his casting at Red Bull Battlegrounds. |

Seriously dude, lighten up, it's fun. And seriously they're not the arbiters of what is intelligent or worthwhile. These guys are all young 20 year old nerds with big microphones these days.
They say stupid things, they are dumb and irreverent from time to time. They're not newscasters, they're SC2 commentators. There's a happy medium between complete professionalism and uninhibited internet idiocy that Tastosis hit pretty perfectly. |
