As a recent member of the Starcraft community I didn't know about the 2010 scandal where KeSPA filed charges against a number of players for fixing matches. I tried searching TL.net, but I couldn't find any threads on it.
Does anyone know who these players were? |

Match Fixing Scandal
Savior was the big one, obviously. A lot of the rest were kind of mid-tier (high enough to bet on, low enough to throw matches) |

That's true, because if he had thrown games being such a big name and a very good player, he'd have made it too obvious. |

Not saying that Savior wasn't a good player but at the time he was far from playing his best. |

The brokers used their relationships with the progamer Mr. Ma (obviously savior) to offer other progamers between 2~6.5 million won ($2k~6.5k) to intentionally lose matches.
Sounds like he was the middle-man, yes. |

If I remember reading through the entire saga correctly, I remember there were people saying that Saviour only became middle-man really relunctantly, and never threw matches (he was offered to throw matches, but he never did) |

Savior i believe is still coaching BW and streaming as well, from what i've heard. Don't know if he still does it but he's done it a few months ago. For the others? Nobody knows...probably the military or something. |

Nah, I think he quit streaming and is focusing more on studies atm. But I am more interested in upmagic, he was my favourite player and - at the very beginning of sc2 - there were rumors of him starting to play again. Well, obviously he did not make a return. Not that he had anything to return to, considering gomtv won't let him play either. |

Nope, Savior still streams and is rumored to make more money than some of the current low-tier progamers off streaming on Afreeca alone (there are a bunch of fanatic Savior fans still out there, which disgusts me).
Luxury was about to get married, then had to go to the military or something. Him and Yarnc were working in a restaurant before that.
Hwasin and type-b went straight to the army; no idea if they are out yet. Here is a picture of Hwasin in military garb (top right). + Show Spoiler +
I've heard rumors that Justin comes from an upper-class family, so he is probably 'fine'. I also heard Darkelf was detained in military prison for a while. No idea what happened after that.Last edit: 2012-06-21 23:12:11 |
